I'm so glad to have a Mexican restaurant with yummy food nearby. I think their salsa is some of the best, and I love how they... bring it in containers with empty serving bowls, so you can mix it to the perfect amount of heat. I tend to be a medium salsakind of person. Sometimes, the chips are a little heavy on grease, and my last batch of fajitas seemed to be lacking in flavor,but it's still a favorite place, and I will return again. Both the refried beans and the black beans have great flavor, and theservers are generally very nice. I do wish I could speak Spanish to explain why I can't eat cheese, and that I want both kindsof beans instead of rice, but I will deal with a little frustration to have authentic food and atmosphere. The serving sizes are exceptionally big. Even one dish would have been more than enough for me and my husband. Good quantity for... the price. Chicken was juicy and nice with flavours. I liked their rice too. Salsa is amazing. Service is also nice. The onlything I did not like was the fried ice cream because it was not what a fried ice cream should be. Just a waste of money. Food was bland, salsa tasted more like catsup than salsa, and the server only checked in a few times. I assume this is a... localized issue as other El Nopal locations I have visited are usually really good quality in regards to both food and staff. Read more
