The best sushi place in OC. Everyone we've recommended this place to have all agreed. Friends who had excellent sushi in Hawaii... even said Hamamori is better. Another friend drives from LA for his sushi fix. The fish is fresh, buttery, and just melts inyour mouth. Even their teriyaki bowls (for kids) are great quality. I don't pay the bill, but I've been told the prices arevery reasonable. Don't let the poshness of South Coast Plaza scare you away. If you love sushi, you have to try Hamamori. Read more

Been going here for 5 years and it has gone down hill since the pandemic. My last three visits were a huge disappointment Fish... is not as fresh as it used to be, preparation of sushi was not up to par and appetizers from the kitchen were awful. Today I ordered the Executive Sushi, which is a lunch serving of 8 pieces of Hamamori Gems. Hamamori gems are premium nigiri... with a premium topping on top. Each lunch serving comes with a house salad and miso soup. Each piece was very delicious, andsome pieces had some unique combos that I haven’t seen before, including some very tasty sauces. The uni bluefin piece was themost flavorful in my opinion. To finish off the meal, I also ordered a tamago, which at Hamamori is a very fluffy cake liketamago, very delicious. Read more
