Stars are for the friendly and prompt staff. Strange vibe when you walk up...in a strip mall, no curb appeal: it would be... awesome if they could have a local artist paint borders or have carvings placed outside to give it a welcoming vibe. Inside isdated and worn down. Drinks, hands down, are good but the food was just above ok. Hubbs and son said the same about theirfood...not impressed. I had the tortilla chicken soup and it was ok. I will say, that if we stay on that side of town again,we'll be back for happy hour. Read more

It was so so. The chips are hard. The complimentary "salsa' is more Luke taco sauce. The prices were high. The staff was Luke... warm. Not rude but not friendly either. It will be the last restaurant I attend...due to possible cross contamination from swineand unclean shellfish. ( necessary for our earth, however not healthy to eat. As per Levitucus ) I appreciated the enchiladasand rice and beans.. And LF was more pleasant then normal. The chips and salsa make a restaurant in my opinion, so I have togive a generous 2 out of 10 on that scale. - SLA... I recommend going to Gloria's or El Toro Bravo next door 2 streets up on19th and Placentia or Don Ramons on Warner in HB...sincerely Shoe Read more

50 years and still going strong. My favorite Mexican restaurant in the world. Not fancy. No corn fungus or bizarre dishes... here. Just excellent homestyle old school Mexican food. Love it. These guys know how to make a cocktail too. The best. Read more

Delicious Mexican food. Some fancy choices and our server was great. He took excellent care of us, seemed happy to be there and... didn’t rush us out the door. We finally tried the nachos. HUGE and YUM and then we had left-overs. Steak salad for me. Lovedit. Made steak and eggs for breakfast the next day. Totally worth it. Read more

Friendly service but food took a little while to come out probably because of Cinco de Mayo. Good food!

Food was outstanding. The service was a little slow only because it was lunchtime & they only had 1 server. He was doing the... best he could. I would definitely recommend. I know I'll be going back. Read more

We have been going here since the early Roar’n 2000s, and every time since, to every Stressgiving, Christmas, pre-New Year... and/or out w/ the girlfriends; this is the go-2 restaurant of the O.C., the restaurant that you definitely will not see Tamara &Vicky chowing down on or off the cameras, but instead see a bunch of good local folks, the sincere meaning of the La FamiliaMexican Restaurant that makes you feel right at home, and right with your wallet, no matter where you are visiting from. Wheremi Casa’s can easily accommodate a few patrons (in the restaurant or bar) to a large party with over 20 (and on one longtable), to plenty of booth table options (for up to 4 people) during date night. Kid friendly, even in the bar table seatingarea, and bar stools for over a dozen drinkers, welcoming and well opened entry, clean bathrooms, plenty of parking (well lite),but it does get busy especially during the holidays, where I am assuming they take reservations, but we have always walked-inand got seated immediately after arriving. Then there is the Happy Hour???? or just strolling back to the bar (w/ no H.H.),where one of the most hardworking waitresses (Shasta) I have ever witness serving multiple tables at a time, will welcome you, inform us on the deals and give great recommendations on how we can improve our experience and not costing us more, by startingus out right with a few Margarita’s ($5 each), Cadillac ($6 each) and see photos for add’l costs/savings for food andalcohol beverages. The portion servings (especially the ???????? ???? chicken cheese tacos) are plenty and my husband of near300 lbs gets overfilled with all-u-can-serve chips and salsa w/ one (not 2), but 1 ???? ???? ???? served w/the delicious houseRefried Beans and Rice, costing under $20 per person in general. On this particular date (1/31/21), in addition we had order 4chicken ???? cheese ???? tacos ????, beans, rice, chips and salsa. To see what I am talking about (see photo) th Read more

I always receive posts of your food on FB and everything always looks so good. I live in Houston, Texas and I visit L.A. all the... time, so I was determined to come to Costa Mesa and try out your food. Just so happened to be here this month. I had dinner onenight and lunch again before going home. Everything was delicious. I will be returning in September. My friends and familyfollowed me there also after seeing the posts. Everyone loves the food there. The portions were huge, well worth the money. Andthe tortilla soup with the avocado and sour cream, chicken and veggies...OMG! My compliments to the Chef. ????????????
