While our party of 9 did have a great waitress (she is the reason I am keeping this as a 3 star experience). One staff member... became flustered (not the waitress) after serving and confirming a vegetarian meal. He told us it was vegetarian meal with nomeat after taking it away to check - but it in fact had meat. We are unsure do how this was checked since it was a burrito andappeared to be untouched. Upon arrival and checking out we were there for over 2 hours. 30+ mins waiting to be seated as wewatched smaller parties immediately seated. They sat us at 2 booths which was fine, however we saw parties of 4 and 5 served andleave much faster. I saw this as a management flaw. Our waitress did a great job given the circumstances. Based on my soleexperience I cannot say I was pleased with the quality of food. But overall if you are in a small party looking to enjoy a dinerexperience and don?t need food substitutes you will be fine. I thought it helpful to post so that larger parties might know whatthey could be walking into. Read more
Simple and good "American food". Fast and good sized portions. (As an Scandinavian I still think the portions are oversized)... Today we tried the bacon burger, and also a breakfast with hash brown and pancakes. Everything taste good. Extra plus on theFrench fries because they were crispy and very fresh. Try their lemonades, they are really good. Service is good and you feelwelcomed. A couple of minus though.... The restaurant does not feel clean and fresh, and could need a good scrub, and lots ofwear and tear on the seats. Over all a nice place for a great breakfast or a simpler dinner. Read more
2 eggs 2 bacon 2 sausage 2 pancake. Coffee Breakfast special $7.99. sat at the counter. Really good service. I ordered a side... of toast also but, it wasn't really toasted ( it was warmed up bread) needs to be toasted more. Read more
Haven't been to a Norms in over 40 yrs, but was pleasantly surprised by this location. We went to grab lunch before I had to... catch a flight. Food was good, but nothing to 'wow' about. Portions were generous for the price. Really enjoyed the 70s/80smusic - brought back memories. Bathroom & overall restaurant appeared clean. Wasn't crowded when we were there. Food servicecould have been faster, but our server was a nice guy. I would have no hesitation returning for another meal. Read more
This was my first time to Norms restauran. I'm sure I'll be back. I really appreciate the American style, design, and food. The... hash brown was the best: golden, crunchy, and delicious. The steak was perfectly grilled. The coffee was acceptable. Thepancakes we're good. No choices of syrups; only maple. I didn't like the inflexiblity of the menu; we weren't allowed tosubstitute some items. Read more

Review for 5/21. Norm's restaurant located in Costa Mesa California on the corners of harbor boulevard and Victoria street. What... can I say, I absolutely enjoyed my breakfast today. I am not guilty, to say that I've been coming to norm's restaurant for thebetter part of the last 25 years. This is my first time at this particular norms restaurant , but I've been at Norms before andthe food is great. I love the dinners and I wonder if they still have the gumbo soup. Which was my favorite by the way.Nevertheless, I got to say that my experience here was great. The waiter was awesome and the food was perfect. I asked for asteak medium well and it came prepared exactly as I ordered it. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience Hope to comeback and have breakfast or dinner sometime in the future. The food and service at this particular location is excellent. I met a friend for breakfast and i ordered the New york steak and... eggs. When my server came to check on us he asked how everything was. I told him i was not happy with my steak since it was verygrisly. He apologized and ordered another steak for me. I was very impressed with his quick actions and results were superb! Thesecond steak was awesome! This establishment still values customers and want to please them.
