Nice cozy sushi place near Newport in a shopping strip. Prices have increased a bit but still reasonable. Fresh handmade rolls.... Tasty. Skip the garlic edamame. Read more

We had a great time, highly recommended we will come back again. Very friendly staff. Every dish we took was tasty. We ate... types of sushi we have never eaten before which was quite cool. We came in for a second visit - just as amazing as thefirst. We also tied the bento box - which was quite nice. Read more

This place was awesome! We didn't know where to go for sushi and went here on a whim and loved it! The ambiance was amazing and... very pretty and very Japanese. The servers and hostess and the sushi chefs were all very warm and friendly and attentive. Weordered a couple nigiri and a few specialty rolls and everything was delicious! Also highly recommend the banana tempura withred bean ice cream! 10/10 definitely coming back when we're in the neighborhood! Read more

Good quality, intimate environment, authentic, but doesn't stand out, and quite pricey. Order: Kanpachi Roll (2pieces) Samurai... Burrito Roll Teriyaki Chicken Miso Soup Generally positive experience. Food was good quality and authentic. Apparently theyhand prepare their miso soup. Interestingly, their miso had a bit of noodles in them. That's a first for me. Didn't notice anyseaweed or tofu, but maybe it's a different style. Kanpachi Roll: Simple, fresh, good quality Samurai Burrito Roll: Their mostpopular item was pretty filling. Wrapped in lots of rice, and good presentation. Nothing particularly noteworthy. AnAmericanized roll. Teriyaki chicken: a small bowl of rice and a plate of brown meat chicken with teriyaki sauce and cabbage.Again nothing particularly noteworthy, didn't stand out and actually underwhelming compared to other teriyaki chicken I've had.It doesn't come with a crispy skin that's fried and adds texture. That's my personal preference when it comes to teriyakichicken. Beer: Big bottle of Kirin malt beer. Can't go wrong with Japanese beer. Environment: Intimate and authentic. You willhear Japanese being spoken by the staff and they have an izakaya style set up where you can sit at a bar and watch the food bemade in front of your eyes. Overall 8/10 would recommend. Next time I'll try the bento box. Read more

We stumbled upon this place when going to the store. The staff is very friendly and patient. I ordered the tuna bowl and it was... really tasty. The only odd thing was that they add noodles to the miso soup they give with the order. I would come back herefor some good sushi! Read more
