We had the honor of meeting one of the best food truck vendors - Northwoods Smokehouse. Their food was absolutely THE best BBQ... we've ever had! The ribs were juicy and full of flavor, the beans, potato salad, mac and cheese, and coleslaw were justamazingly delicious. Food truck was at G-will liquors in Cottage Grove. Workers were super friendly and fast. Ordered two orders of tacos and one... smoked sausage. Total was thirty dollars which is so reasonable compared to McDonald's that costs us more. Food is outstanding.Sauce is creamy and zesty and seasonings are perfectly balanced. This is a definite must go to for anyone who loves BBQ andsmoked meat. Food is a bit spicy and my 5 year had a hard time. The BBQ at Northwoods Smokehouse is PHENOMENAL! I?m not kidding. After we walked up to the trailer and smelled what they had... cooking, we knew we were in for a fabulous meal. Once we got our Texas Platter in our hands, that was it. This BBQ is so goodyou have to stop to eat it on the hood of your car! If you haven?t stopped by yet, get on it. Knowing the popularity of the food, we showed up near opening time so that all the options would still be available. They were... quick and friendly, everything prepared fresh. I got the pulled pork (spicy BBQ sauce) plate with the beans and mac and cheeseas my sides. The pulled pork was delicious and a good- sized serving. I expected that to be the star of the show and the sidesto be nothing more than filling calories, as they tend to be at most other establishments. To my delight, this was not thecase. The beans, too had a great flavor to them and the mac is exactly the type I wish I knew how to make for myself at home - aperfect mix of cheeses!! Both sides were good enough to be considered on their own if someone you're with doesn't like BBQ. Getthere early, as the food is prepared fresh daily and sells out. Absolutely will be back!! I had heard a few people talk about this place. I finally tried it earlier this spring and I always look forward to schedule... drop day to find out where they will be for the week so I can get my fill. The meat is good. I really love both the original andspicy sauces. I love the pulled chicken. I tend to just get the platter because the sandwich ends up being so much for me. Thesides though...wow. The Mac and cheese is also smoked and so creamy. The potato salad had to be the best ever though. It's aperfect balance of mustardy and creamy. I could eat a pound of it every week, it's that good. And the nutter butter pudding. Ifyou can give yourself a treat, do it. Read more
