My family and I went yesterday. We had chicken enchilada dinners except for my husband, he had a steak burrito. Our food was ok... but my husband?s burrito was cold all the way through and looked old. When we told her we didn?t want it and to please take itoff our bill, she stood there and argued with me that the steak burrito comes like that and next time tell the waitress we wantit hot?. Never in my life have I ever had to ask for a hot burrito? 2 hours after we got home my husband got really sick, from 2bites of that horrible cold burrito. I ordered the Plato combo dish. It was excellent, I'm always leery about sauces because I have had some strange ones. This order... had a enchilada suiza, tostada suiza and a flour taco and of course the standard beans and rice. I didn't get to the taco yetbut I'm sure it will be great. So let me start by saying i used to come here 20+ years ago regularly with my family (the bar area had a glass roof and they had... a huge mural on the kitchen wall which is now gone). It was awesome back then! It's been a while since I've been here and i cansay they have fallen off a bit. Not saying it's bad, but it's not the caliber they used to be. The steak in my burrito was justgray, no charred tidbits, our chips weren't hot and fresh like they used to be. The suizo burrito cheese wasn't the same either,it used to stretch and string(mine was lukewarm so might have been the issue). The bistec ala mexicana suizo was still very goodthough. Also side note they put lettuce and tomato in normal burritos now, i got mine with no lettuce and still ended up with ahuge pile of tomatoes which kinda sucked. This location is still way better than mokena, and its still decent food. My review isjust harsh because i have seen the restaurant at its peak and it was one of the best around, It's a shame it has fallen a bit.Good luck guys, I hope you continue to thrive. Read more

This was my second visit to this spot. The first time it wasn't so memorable. Tonight it was rather good???? I had the Tamales... Cortez, a side of guacamole and a pina colada. I really love a good guac it was smooth and yummy. Just needed a dash of salt.The tamales were melt in my mouth good???? and the pina colada was delightful. I would definitely go back???? * update. 2nd visit, very disappointed. Drinks were flavorless, ordered beef in my food, came out as potatoes instead. ... Staff was very scarced to find. Kinda pricey, very disappointing and most likely won't be back . Good food, friendly staff, a little interesting as far as a restaurant design goes. Read more
