Had lunch at Toby's Tavern today.... what a great experience! The restaurant is fun, right on the bay and the staff is very... friendly! I ordered the grilled cheese with a cup of clam chowder. Chef Alex is a genius! Whatever she does to the bread isperfect! It's toasted and crispy, but not too hard. The chowder was creamy and the clams melted in your mouth. It was a nice, sunny Friday. While taking my normal walk at lunch, passing Toby's I read their special Muscle stew with Bread.... They were very busy, I had to wait about 10 minutes for my to go order. Walked back to work, sat down at my desk and enjoyed mytasty stew with toasted bread and cookie. Read more
Friendly staff at this cozy bar and restaurant. The seafood chowder and bread were excellent, and the beer selection is great... too. No dogs and kids under 21 as this is a bar. Read more
I'm not deeply into seafood but the mussels here are incredible. They had a Thai curry mussel special and the flavors were... amazing and exactly what we needed to warm up after a long, cold walk by the water. Great vibe, very cozy and friendly. Read more
We stopped because a friend told how well they prepare their steamed Penn Cove mussels. The reality lived up to the hype. They... were great. Especially paired with the Toby Parrot Red Ale. The staff were pleasant and fun. Great place to grab a beer andsome good food. Read more
