Great experience. We each ordered the tasting menu, which is four courses including dessert or a coffee or dessert... cocktail. The portions were hefty, almost too big. I would have been more than satisfied with a third less food. But that’snot a bad thing, I’m just saying to come hungry. We started with the veggie skillet and the tomato salad. They were a greatcontrasting pair. The skillet was deep and rich and earthy. While the salad was bright and refreshing. A great start. Second wehad the meatballs and the scallop pasta. The meatball were tender with an amazing and unexpected sauce that was spicy and tangy.The scallops were perfectly cooked with nice pasta and a wonderful sauce. Third we had the pork chop and the salmon. Pork wasperfectly seasoned and cooked with wonderful apples and slaw. The salmon was rich and tasty. I had a glass of port for dessertand we split the peach sorbet. That sorbet was mind blowing. It had a brown sugar crumble and it was so rich and delicious.Tasted like creamy peach pie. I’ve never used the word “velvety” to describe food, but that’s was this sorbet was. Sodamn velvety. Service was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable, even providing me an extra treat for my birthday. The food was fantastic for the price. Easily the best money for quality ratio of any restaurant in the area. [Note about... photos: the food was so good we didn't manage to get any photos of the presentation before we dived in and missed the salmonentirely] Our server was super friendly and quickly changed up our wine pairings to best suit our tastes. She was attentive andasked for feedback at every step even though she was killing it. We had no notes other than to express how impressed we were. Iwas concerned upon presentation that the salmon dish was a bit contrived but the multiple elements worked together so well mypartner and I were still talking about it on the way home. The use of mushrooms was a phenomenal perk for someone like me whois a big fan of foraging my own. Between the two of us we tried both the steak and duck mains and both of us agreed that it wassome of the best food we'd had in recent memory. The chocolate croissant bread pudding was so good I thought my partner wasgoing to cry (no joke, it's really that good). I don't usually have much of a sweet tooth but was blown away by the perfume ofthe strawberry sorbet as it hit my tongue. Definitely would recommend springing for the cava pairing there. Portion sizes arelarger than any tasting menu I've had before. Timing of dishes (it's a scratch-made kitchen) was exactly on point. We never feltrushed or ignored by the service. Bouquet is very good. Cheese board was very well down and all pickled veggies made in house. Out of the 3 "firsts" - the salad... was ok but nothing too special. The meatballs and potato dish are both 5-star and extremely well done! Out of the seconds, boththe mushroom dish and scallop pasta were too rich for me, but the table liked them a lot.
