Such a amazing find in historical Covington. This oyster bar restaurant is a local favorite and I can see why. The staff is... friendly and efficient, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was like a family gathering. There are plenty of choices ifoysters are not your favorite. I had the fish sandwich with corn fritters and it was tasty. We would definitely come again. Read more

Unfortunately we came in the hour before closing and the server was preoccupied with other jobs. The jambalaya was cold and dry... and no one came back to our table to ask us if our meals were ok. The shrimp po boy was delicious and hot. We had to even waitto get our bill. Another server or manager came over to check on us and was very kind and comped our bill. Perhaps it was justbad timing. I decied to come here for the 1st time after this time on the Northshore bc of supposed steak night. I don't think I got the... advertised 18.99 for a ribeye... Which I also pre messaged on FB about it. But it is what it is. Seating here is free forpeople unfamiliar with it. It did take a minute to get waited on as the waitress did not seem aware I was at a table for a min.Which she apologized for I don't per se think it's her fault but a fault with the system. All the food I had here was verygood. It may not be top tier food but it definitely tasted great. The rum punch was also alot better than I was anticipating.Steak was cooked to a perfect medium and was juicy and tender. There should also be a note there is a credit card surchargewhich I find slightly obnoxious in today's climate when electronic tenders especially post covid are ever morepopular. Shateria did help make up the experience for me which is why I elevated the service status to 3* which were originallygoing to be a 2. Not the best random walk in experience but the food and her best efforts definitely made up for it Read more

My 1st time here... Expectations were pretty high but it was just okay. Spinach Appetizer Dip was bland and the Oysters we're... unfortunately dry and no toppings to add to them. Service was attentive though. Read more

Amazing service here, even at the bar!! Oysters were $10 tonight. The fried catfish on the poboy was light, golden brown, a... clean taste not muddied by the oil or breading like some places. Watching the oyster shucker was simply artistic, as hisdexterity, speed and history with the oysters was a sight to behold. The bartenders are great, they know their food as well astheir drinks. By the way, the bread pudding with the Bourbon sauce is to die for!!! Well done to Busters. We will be back tovisit!!! Read more

We went to Buster’s on Sunday 7/3, right before the restaurant was to be closed for the following week. We were not greeted so... much as being told to sit anywhere. We ordered the chargrilled and raw oysters. The chargrilled oysters were not hot and the rawoysters were not cold. We watched as our server held the oysters near her shoulder while she had a prolonged conversation withthe oyster shucker, her ponytail swinging dangerously close to the oysters that we were about to consume. When the oystersfinally arrived, we ordered a beer to go with the oysters. She did go get the beer right away, but her conversation with Mr.Shucker was not over. Once again, we watched her hold the beer as she continue the prolonged conversation with the shucker. Hemust be very interesting! When the chargrilled came, they were not bubbling hot like one might expect something coming out of abroiler might be. They were little warmer than room temperature and topped with barely melted waxy parmesan cheese and seeminglynothing else. We split the seafood platter which wasn’t terrible. Although it lacked seasoning save for the oysters which wereextremely salty, it was hot and not greasy. The oysters were heavily breaded and cut into strips rather than fried whole and wedid not receive the ‘corn fritters’ that come with the plate. When we asked our server, she let us know that Buster’s wasclosed the following week and they had run out of them. Perhaps, she should have mentioned that when we ordered? The ambianceof Buster’s and the cleanliness were okay, but it definitely felt more like a barroom than a restaurant. While it was veryaffordable for a seafood place, I guess you get what you pay for and I that we will not be back. ps- lastly, we added a softshell crab and it was the smallest crab either of us had ever seen.
