Service was absolutely great & we loved our server. But if you want actual the actual Louisiana seafood experience I wouldn’t... suggest the shrimp boil or shrimp Alfredo. We didn’t try the other dishes so I can’t give my opinion on that but coming froma pregnant lady who grew up on southern seafood I make better at home. Don’s was a nice place to enjoy some time with friends. The service was good, the food was fast and hot. They have a nice... little beer selection and the drinks from the bar looked good, but I did not try one. Chargrilled oysters were made fresh andtasty for sure (I hope you like butter and cheese!). Unpleasant experience from the very beginning. As soon as we walked in, we noticed a bad smell, reminiscent of sewer water,... which was in the air for the whole meal. We sat down and received dirty silverware, slightly used napkins from the table next tous, and water that tasted like it had some kind of cleaning chemical taste. We ended up getting bottled water from the car anddrank that instead. The food sold for premium prices of $20+, and while the fried items were okay, anything boiled like shrimp,potatoes, and corn were extremely overcooked. Amazing menu items, amazing food. Service was good too! I had the zydeco shrimp tacos, and we also ordered the crawfish... quesadillas both amazing dishes! Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of parking. Nice looking bar. Outside seating available. Read more
Went to get a meal after a long flight. Was greeted quickly at the bar. Had Boudin balls appetizer. Nice portion and tasty... ????. Shrimp-n-Grits entree was excellent, I did enjoy the sauce. The shrimp were a little small that's why you lost a star.Bread pudding was warm and delicious. Price point was fair a 3 course meal and one beer with tip $57.00. I was full I had towalk that meal off lol. Just a little advice your Oyster station needs a little work. Very messy, home Depot bucket ???? on thefloor. Cutting board needed resurfacing lots of deep grooves. Improve the visuals. Read more
I had the fried alligator. Delicious!! It is an appetizer but was plenty for my dinner. I also added a dinner salad. I got more... arugula than lettuce for the salad, or I would say that was good as well. I also tried the crawfish which was really good too!Our waitress was super friendly and we had a great meal. I moved to Tennessee and almost forgot how great Don’s Seafood is. The food is delicious and the restaurant is classy and... comfortable and decorated nicely. You would not know they may be short-staffed because the service was unbelievably first classand efficient. Everyone who works there seems to enjoy their jobs and it shows with how they interact with their customers.Thanks for a lovely experience and great food. Read more
Consistently good over the years. Still good, maybe a slight decline (11/3/2022). 11/3/2022 ordered shrimp and grits (very... good), seafood combo, jacked up shrimp (of course), side of hush puppies, and a burger for the non seafood water. The seafoodcombo was very good, but the red beans could have been warmer temperature - wise. When I return to Louisiana to visit family, Ioften stay at a nearby Marriott hotel just so I can eat at this restaurant! The restaurant has been consistently good over theyears (the hotel however seemed to be struggling by Dec, 2021 from Covid). We have been very happy with a wide variety ofseafood and steaks from here. While visiting family, I stay several nights. The good selection across the board means I can goto the same restaurant and order different meals. But the one item I order every time is the Jacked up Shrimp. The jackedshrimp and bread can be a meal for one. The good news is that the kitchen is open moderately late, so there is a good chance ofgetting a great meal even if you have an early evening flight into MSY. Read more
