First time at this location. I haven't visited one since the 1st one in New Orleans which was a horrendous experience. I was in... the mood for a steak and since longhorn in the areas gone and the other options not so great I decided to give it awhirl. Located right next to Mercedes Benz in Covington. There is apparently a rewards program not directly they saltgrass butthe parent company LANDRYS select club. Pay 25$ for it (it's refunded right back in 5 min in form of a gift card) earn pointsand get select experiences at other hotels, venues and dining experiences throughout the country with Landry affiliates. I'mgoing to go ahead and put out there if u trying to dine on a budget this isn't the place. menu is expensive. Most expensivesteakhouse I've been in since Texas de Brazil (not really a SH) and the place under the dolphin hotel in Orlando. I went aheadwith the porterhouse. One of my main complaints at the Vets location was time it took to receive service over 10 min for a beerand others that arrived later than us got their food first. I got none of that here. Everything was hot and fresh in timelymanners. My server Katelyn was excellent and gave me some excellent recommendations on the side ( the brussel sprouts) and mostpopular drinks ( Tito's Texas tea) The brussel sprouts were excellent even though they weren't steamed. The steak was out ofthis world better than the outlaw Ribeyes I've had at longhorn. Even the 2 drinks pomegranate mojito an TTT weredelicious. Staff was way friendlier at this location. One of the managers made rounds checking on clients. Brought out my foodand answered one of my questions cheerfully. Will return soon to try more items. On the plus side, our waitress was great. I didn't realize it until we left, but she was also working the bar. So kudos to her.... But the food was mediocre. Steaks were overdone - both my medium rare and my wife's medium - and the flavor had much to bedesired. The bread is dry and flavorless - but just good enough to eat more than one piece cause it's complimentary. You knowthe struggle! This was the second time we've eaten there. And I can assure you, we won't be going back. And judging from thenear empty restaurant at lunch today, I guess we are not alone. Read more
Worst service EVER!!! 7/3/22 - The waitress we had, had 4 tables (couldn't handle that many). Took over 10 minutes before she... came over to take the drink order, and then another 10 minutes before we got our drinks Order an appetizer, that took foreveralso (but it was good and plentiful). Ordered our food and needed refills on our drinks, didn't see the waitress for quitesometime. The waiter working the next section actually came over and asked if we needed anything. He brought us drinks, and weexplained to him the problem. He went to get us the GM. They tried to blame it on the kitchen staff, I told him it's not thekitchen, it's our server. He did give us our appetizer for free. I told him I could have stayed home and cooked faster than ittook them. The food was actually very good but service Horrible. Read more
Great food, and you have to try the mango tea! It is delicious! The chips and queso with brisket were amazing!

The ribeye and ribs were delicious along with the sides. Ribeye- tender, juicy and well-seasoned. The ribs were just about... falling off the bone and had an unctuous barbecue sauce. The only thing that left me a bit flat was the chocolate doberge cakethat was intended to have the consistency of a cake ball, which I thought was OK, but I would much rather a different chocolatedessert. The server was really great and it has a nice atmosphere. Looked like a slow night for them. Probably deserves a bitover 4 stars for what we had, but a busy night is a truer test, of course. Our date night was awesome. Our server Stephanie was super nice & she also made my wife's drink excellent, a Michelada. The... food was delicious, the chicken breast & the filet were both cooked perfectly and the fried asparagus my wife said was yummy. Wewill definitely be going back to that location in Covington, Louisiana. Read more
