Beautifully prepared food. Never disappoints
Local residents may not want this gem to become too well known as I can imagine that they want to keep it to themselves. I was... recommended to the Frog Peak Cafe by friends in Castlegar who regularly make the pilgrimage to this delicious Mecca. I?mvisiting from the west coast and can attest that the Frog Peak is one of my best food experiences. Looking at the menu, theyhad me at Eggs Benny, so I ordered the Sunshine that includes avocado, tomato, and sunflower sprouts. It also came with agenerous helping of pan seared potatoes. I added a mocha to the order for the perfect breakfast. I judge restaurants by theireggs Benedict and I wasn?t disappointed. The Hollandaise sauce was silky smooth and delicious. The potatoes were crispy andhot, and I must admit I anointed them with my childhood addiction of ketchup. The Mocha stayed wonderfully hot long enough forme to linger with it after the breakfast was gone. The staff were very friendly and the vibe is funky cafe with a diversecollection of interesting signs, memorabilia and odd bits. It is more than worth the detour even if you aren?t heading up theSlocan Valley. Just turn off 3A and head up a short distance to this lovely cafe. You will be glad you did. Read more
This is a wonderful little gathering place for breakfast or lunch you have to get there before 2:00 or the kitchen closes down... due to staffing. They have a wonderful bakery you can buy stuff from. As you can see in my pictures there's lots of places tosit outside and your kids can play on the playground and I thought everybody just like eating that's a great place to bike yourfamily too or just bike yourself. Super lovely space with plenty of art and lots of natural light. The staff is super friendly and the spot seems to be really... popular! The food portions were surprisingly big for the price and were absolutely delicious. Has a really nice vibe and seemsto be kid friendly. They had a couple passive environmental and local fundraisers running when I was visiting too! Read more
