We went for lunch. The food was really good fresh well made. I had grilled shrimp with mash potatoes. My husband a seafood dish... as well with pasta and white sauce. We both enjoyed our meal. The food here was nothing spectacular. I would not go back. They never brought out our salads. The waitstaff kept walking... looking for who the food belong to.The one side they have is mash potatoes and they we very very bland. My salmon was alsobland, the steak and lobster ravioli my family were also lacking flavor. The food and service did not justify the bill. Thestaff was friendly just not very organized. Looking at the reviews I thought I was going to have an amazing meal. We didn't evenfinish our food. And we were very hungry. Read more
Not often I give a five star rating but my experience this evening warranted it. Both my dinner, Lasagna with a Meatball... Appetizer and the wonderful waitress (Maggie I believe) were great. This was my first time back since it changed from the oldBaci. I will certainly be back. Read more
2nd visit here. Plenty of parking available. Nice wine list, I believe that there is a full bar on site. The linguine with... meatballs was delicious. The bread that comes out before your food is super tasty. They have multiple salads available. I hadthe fillet with potatoes, medium was under cooked. I had more potatoes than I could finish. I had the crème brûlée for asweet treat, I didn’t finish it because it was super blah. I also had a cappuccino to wrap up my visit there. This is my favorite Italian restaurant in the area. The atmosphere is relaxing and nice. The service is quick and friendly. And... the best part is the food. I’ve been here many times and they were never being disappointed. The food is always delicious. Theingredients are always fresh. I would highly recommend. And it’s a very decent place to treat guests or families. Read more
We visited before 5 on a Saturday without a reservation, and they accommodated us; but definitely should make a reservation on... busier days. My wife’s scallops, sons pasta with meatballs and my Lobster ravioli were all good, would recommend if your inthe area and want a very good meal in a well run restaurant. The garlic knots instead of bread were a surprise and delicious. Service was a mixed from the two servers we had, seemed just to be a language issue so maybe this is just very authenticItalian. Only complaint was they were out of nearly every beer on draft; but that could just be a delivery issue; so not a bigdeal should drink wine in a Italian restaurant anyhow. Read more
6/19/21 Newly opened just in time with the lifting of COVID restrictions, Cafe Fiore is in a great spot directly off of I-91 on... Rt. 372 in Cromwell. The menu is pretty standard Italian fare, but they do make their own pasta and the sauces are excellent. Istopped in on a Friday to have lunch with a couple of also retired former co-workers. Dan had the shrimp & scallops over inhouse made pappardelle pasta. He was very impressed. Each of them had a garden salad, included with their pasta orders with madein house dressing (it's the only dressing they offer). Rob had the Zuppa Di Clams that he declared delicious, except he'd wishedhe'd ordered what I had, which was the dinner portion of fried calamari with marinara sauce. It was cooked to absolute goldenperfection and had a lot of tentacles mixed in, making it extra appetizing for me. The marinara sauce was thick, flavorful, andclung to the calamari as I dipped into it. A terrific lunch with a couple of terrific guys. We have been here several times, food is exceptional. They have a happy hour menu Monday through Friday with several entrees,... appetizers and drinks at reduced prices. Great food, decent prices. Read more
