Up-selling to children without parent permission. We ordered two shaved ices for our children and while our children were... picking their three flavours the woman convinced them to add ice cream and sweetened condensed milk on top. We got to pay forthe extra costs without having agreed to the extra charge and our kids thought the sweetened condensed milk was disgusting anddidn?t end up liking the ices because of it. Up selling to children is a disgusting selling practice. We will not be revisiting. Had they just given my children what they had ordered without trying to get extra money out of us they probably would haveloved it. I do not recommend this place! Read more
Okay so I love ice! I love to eat ice. I?d rather eat ice than drink water! Huis shaved ice made all my icy dreams come true.... The ice is fine (a little texture but melts upon touch) but what really nailed it were the syrups. Their syrups have THEPERRRFFECCTTT amount of sugar in them. Very very mildly sweet ?- so you really don?t feel like you?re going to get diabetes withevery bite! They aren?t even over priced - I wish they open a place closer to Burnaby or New West - it?d be a dream come true???? They nailed all the flavours - watermelon was my favorite! Haven?t had American shaved ice in a while and was very pleased. Made my own shaved ice with blueberry raspberry, lime,... raspberry and vanilla ice cream on the bottom. Definitely recommend adding the ice cream - it tasted like a creamsicle. It wasalso the perfect amount of sweetness. It was so refreshing to have after being outside in the 30 degree weather. The pineapple coconut was our favorite although our kids loved the watermelon cotton candy - definitely get the pearl ice cream... and snowcap topping. The regular size was big enough for 4 of us to share. Tastes just like what we had in Hawaii. Willdefinitely be back. Read more
I ordered the pineapple express and it was delicious ????. I really enjoy shaved ice as it's a refreshing treat in the heat and... a great alternative to ice cream for those who are lactose intolerant. I would have given it 5 stars had the price been a littlemore reasonable. In my opinion the price is higher than I believe it should be. I also had ice cream at a competitor in the sameplaza and it was significantly lower in price and a better value. Read more
What a great place! Has a very fun vibe and nice and clean. We ordered two small and they were huge! Flavours were delicious... and the service was quick and friendly! Rain took our order and made our shaved ice and she was awesome! Such a nice friendlygirl! We will be back again next time we are out that way! Read more
The best shave ice I?ve had outside of Hawaii! Usually I don?t even bother with so called shave ice places in the lower... mainland, because the few times I?ve tried they were icy, chunky and more like a snow cone. Hui?s has the real machines andtonnes of flavours. Try it with a snow cap! Read more
