For all of you haters leaving poor reviews for Mr. Brooks poor service, there is something you should know. He lost his wife to... cancer a few years ago. He is still struggling with that fact. Cut the man some slack. He is in fact a wonderful, caring humanbeing whom I consider it a privilege to know. His bbq is also top notch without question. Read more

Hands down the best BBQ I've ever had. I've been eating this brisket for 12 years and it never disappoints. The potato salad and... beans are to die for. Don't get me started on the Mac n cheese.... You can buy his BBQ sauce there or at Ace Hardware. Mr.Brooks is a good man and a great American. You get what you pay for.. Read more

I'd like to say I've had worse BBQ, but I don't think I have. Could have just been an off day, but the brisket, ribs and pulled... pork I got were all covered in creosote due to poor fire management. Super bitter, and left my mouth almost totally numb. Couldhave been an off day, but I dunno if I'll be back. Ribs were cooked really well, just full of creosote. Brisket could havebeen rested longer, it was a little tough, but the fat was rendered well. Pulled pork was cooked perfect, but the bark was fullof bitter creosote. Mac and Cheese was great, outside of the (I'm guessing) brisket fat full of creosote added to it that madeit bitter. Beans were the best thing I had that day next to the BBQ sauce. Read more

After leaving in Katy for more than 15 years I have heard such Great Reviews of this establishment. We arrived almost when he... was about to close. The meat was a bit dry for my taste and overcooked. Potato Salad tasted like Mayo. Not to mention a bit overpriced. Read more

Got the two meat plate with pulled pork and brisket with coleslaw and potato salad. The meat was very flavorful and the sauce... was a great complement to it (For the portion of meat there was, I would have preferred a little more sauce). Potato salad alsowas yummy. The coleslaw had "craisins" and almonds in it, which is an interesting take on that dish to me. Service wasfriendly and fast. Overall, very good experience picking up BBQ here. Read more

I heard about brooks' Place not long ago from a friend. I finally got a chance to visit, and I was blown away. It is totally... worth the drive from wherever you are in the Houston area. First, about the meat ? wow the meat! The brisket was moist andflavorful, with a great amount of smoke flavor, but not overpowered by it. And the bark was the most distinct bark I?ve everseen on a brisket. I also had to try the locally-made venison and jalapeno sausage. It had a great grind and fantastic flavor. The potato salad was very creamy and delicious. Next the location ? they are a food truck, permanently parked out front of anACE Hardware at Barker Cypress and FM529. It felt like they are a long way from everything. But the truth is, it?s not hard toget there from most parts of Houston. They?ve been here for 9+ years now, so the location is obviously working just fine forthem. They use mostly red oak, with some pecan mixed in. And they keep the temp in the pit right around 250. If you ever findyourself near the Berry Center or down in that Copperfield/Riata Ranch area, take the time to stop by Brooks? Place. You willnot be sad you did. Read more
