We have been coming El Taco Loco for as long as I can remember. When they changed owner I was afraid that things would change... but they got BETTER! keep up the great work. The staff is also the ???? even when we get the grumpy lady she rocka as well. Read more
Always a solid choice, great selections at decent prices and delicious food, overall. The service can be spotty though.
Update: I want to believe they were having an off day, however service was taking extremely long, products were not cooked well;... overcooked or simply not as fresh as should be. The octopus on a molcajete del Mar was frozen dry. Not even the texture wasthere much less the flavor. While a molcajete del Mar seems appealing Molcajetes main appeal is for hot food, I expectedsomething special but it was lacking seasoning,flavor and most of all freshness on octopus; it's suppose to have oystersaccording to the menu but there were none. Their meats molcajete is good but this seemed more like an overpriced coktel orcampechana. The shrimp rellenos were cooked dry, maybe premade and cooked once again, the rice was hard maybe from dryness ,notcompletely cooked or reheated too many times. They were struggling as far as service with almost full house, but service andteamwork seems flawed. I mention these things so you can improve and put forth the effort to provide better experience forcustomers. I rarely go on weekend and had only been during week for brunch and they seemed to handle the crowd well earlier inthe day on Saturday. Not sure what's going on but sure hope they're able to iron the details and be able to handle the crowdsmuch better. Old review: This place is great value, delicious, their service has always been good and gotten better. While I'vetried various items from carne asada tacos, to Costello, to fajitas lately at least the last 2 times I had their tacos debarbacoa. I was about to order a molcajete which seem to be new items on the menu however I recalled the tacos were to die forand wanted to confirm if they're spectacular or they had a fluke. The tacos ended tasting better than I recall. They are sosoft and juicy without drowning and sogging the tortilla to point it breaks. 3.75 ???? I had the big combination. Alot of food. To me was just average not much flavor or seasoning. Tortilla chips and taco... shell was stale. The older lady with pony tail that other reviews are talking about. You can tell she's trying so hard to benice with fake smile but she is grumpy. Glad I tried but pry never be back. Big combination everything but the kitchen sink. Gives you a good variety of Mexican foods and chips and salsa while waiting.
My family loves this restaurant! We do our own Mexican home-cooking, but in many cases, the family would prefer many of the... dishes from El Taco Loco versus what we make at home. :-) The refried beans are beyond delicious (the are not vegetarian) andmy daughter and her roommate use to drive all the way from Greeley just for a takeout order of the beans! You can easily callthe restaurant and order food for pickup which is a great option and especially great during the COVID-19 pandemic (my husbandpicks up a dinner for breakfast some mornings during the work week as early as 0800). The one negative I have is that I'm avegetarian and there is not a good selection for me. Read more
