Me and my love came here for a little date afternoon. It's in the prime of down town dade city, the service we received was... amazing, very patient and the server didn't forget any of my extras :), the pizza was freshly cooked, we both ordered lunchspecials which were about $7 , I got the two pieces of pizza both big NY slices, fries and drink, he got the fried pizza, friesand drink, which the fried pizza is AMAZING ! American Pizza Oven is our favorite restaurant for family dining. Everyone gets more than enough (hard to do with two growing... adolescents!), it is consistently delicious, and it fits nicely into our snug family budget! This family owned and operatedrestaurant serves, among other things, a single or double sliced pizza lunch special, subs, pizza, fried mushrooms, and glutenfree pizza. Pizza was good. Greek salad not so much. Romaine to brown. Hand tear or ceramic best ? Olives suck bad. Jar olives better?
First time vist, the food was good. We had the lunch special a 6" Philly cheese steak and a meatball sub. They came with drinks... and a side for less than $20! It's down town so at lunch time parking can be a issue. Service was friendly. We'll go back.Update came back next day and had fried mushrooms, deep fried pizza slice and 2 slices pepperoni pizza. Really want to give more stars but this place is very inconsistent. Of the times we?ve ordered, it?s been a 50/50 split on if... the order comes out good. We never know what to expect and it seems like the busier the night is, the more likely you are to geta bad product. Tonight was the second time we?ve gotten garlic knots that are tiny, inconsistent and definitely not worth whatwe paid (picture shown of the FULL order of garlic knots). Overcooked crust, haphazardly cut slices of varying sizes and astruggle to find a close parking space just to pick up an order has become the common occurrence if we ever try to order on aweekend. Would love for there to be some consistency and quality checks before handing off the orders to the customers andmaybe a marked parking spot for pick up? Read more
Finally, a pizza with SAUCE! Love the little "kick" to the fried mushrooms too. Had the 2 slice lunch special while my husband... ate a small pizza. I think I got the better deal. HUGE slices for the special. Picture with my hand over a slice for sizecomparison. I could eat only 1 of the slices. The second slice almost filled a small pie box! Absolutely the best pizza around. We ordered the meatlovers pizza, fried mushrooms, cheesy breadsticks and raspberry cheesecake... chimis. All were fresh, hot and tasty. Will definitely make this place a regular. Read more
