The store is amazing...daughter was in heaven! We even got her new dolls ears pierced but they were too booked for a hair... style...next time maybe...but the bistro, the service is very slow...don't expect that to be quick...and we were disappointed asit was just my daughter and I...first timers...they never brought her the doll sizes saucer and mug, we had to ask forit...everyone else around us has them...we didn't get anything for the doll to eat or drink when everyone else has thoseitems...we asked and they were super nice and brought it but had to ask...then the tiered tray that comes out with theappetizers in them...they brought us a single flat plate Instead of the three tier okay set which my daughter was enamoredby...they didn't even bring us the ranch for the veggies, the yogurt for the fruit etc...like they were mad that I yl she waseating or that we were splitting as I didn't realize it was a full meal...so I had to ask for the tiered pretty plate and thesides they forgot... The food was ok but the amount of time we sat there without service and then having to ask for everythingwas a little ridiculous...we def won't do that part of the experience again. My daughter, my twin 10 year old granddaughters and I visited the American Girl doll store in the Galleria in Dallas last week... for the first time. The store was beautiful and my granddaughters were amazed and really enjoyed shopping. One of the solepurposes in going was to get their American Girl doll's ears pierced. The website had promised an amazing experience. We hadmade an appointment and the girls were so excited. When we arrived at the store the girls went to the nearest counter and toldthe sales clerk that they had made an appointment and asked where to go to get their doll's ears pierced. The clerk said at anyregister or upstairs in the salon. They chose to go to the salon. When we got to the salon there were 2 employees styling someof the doll's hair. My granddaughters went to the counter and told them that they had made an appointment to get the doll'sears pierced.(There were no other people in there at all.) They were met with some not-very-friendly looks and the salesgirltold them that they would only pierce the ears of American Girl dolls that were bought at this store that day. I replied that Ihad read the website and that was not mentioned in it. They also told the girls that their dolls were not authentic AmericanGirl dolls but yet they never got within 10 feet of us or even looked at the dolls. She just said that they would not piercetheir ears. I will never forget the look of disappointment on the girl's faces. I myself own a preschool and would NEVER hurta child's feelings in this manner. We left the salon and started shopping downstairs. My granddaughters found some dolls thatthey loved and chose one. We paid for the dolls and told them we wanted their ears pierced. One of the ladies took the dollsto the back room and pierced their ears. Not at all the experience that had been promised on the website. Brought my daughter here for her birthday. She was gifted my old doll & we brought her here to have the doll checked out. The... manager was extremely helpful & caring when we asked about the "hospital", let us know that they could help us send the doll off& when my daughter started to cry she calming talked to her & checked out her doll & let her know that the doll is in good shape& no need to visit yet. This place is unreal, a mega store for dolls, girls and family. The food was nice, good service. We had a lot of fun. It has 2... floors, where you can buy, style your dolls, eat and stroll around. You kids will love it. Read more
This is the second American Girl I?ve ever been to, and wow! I was blown away! This store is a stand alone store, it is on the... grounds of the mall, but is not attached. They had practically every doll in stock, but not many matching clothes options forchild and doll. This store also has a doll salon and restaurant that are both by available by appointment. Read more
I went in wanting to get a doll shirt that said Dallas on it since I have several from other cities. I couldn't find any help to... ask where it might be so I stood in the checkout line to ask. The woman at the check out I asked was rude about answering ifthey know when they might get them back in, they were out and she said they won't come in for weeks or even the next month. Iasked if I could order one or buy one online and she just said flat out no. Just super disappointing the customer service is notthere. I went to the New York city store as a child and loved it. I think we all know that the merch here is not cheap but making a kid's dreams come true is priceless. Even as an adult, you can... appreciate the craftsmanship of the products. Wow. So many doll displays, so many themes! Love the upstairs bistro, party rooms and nice bathroom. My 25 year old and 15... year old girls enjoyed the visit. Good memories of past dolls we've had! So fun to see younger girls enjoying. Read more
