Drinks were very good at this new spot in Dallas. We did request to sit at the bar but looked like there was a manager or owner... sitting at the bar working on his computer during a dinner rush and the staff was too scared to ask them to make room for payingguest but as we got a table he moved for another couple. Quesadilla was ok and the chicken flautas were better. Chips and salsawere great. Drinks were so good we ordered 3 rounds each. Dessert was probably the reason I ask continue to come back thestrawberry 4 leches cake was perfect. Read more

The food was great and a level above the typical mexican restaurant in Dallas. I wiil go back, however I felt rushed by the... wait staff at each and every interaction. They are new and an almost frenzied atmosphere was evident. I paid the bill and theyimmediately set new plates and silverware for the next patrons while we were still sitting there. We were not dilly dallying. This was placed in the middle of our napkins still on the table. No wiping of the table surface or cleaning effort wasobserved. Read more

Finally got to eat here (been crazy busy last few times we popped by) & welcome to the neighborhood Escondido! Not as great as... the original (that was from our late 70’s SMU days) but still very good. Smaller menu, need to spice up the hot sauce, amazingqueso, great staff. Will be very popular with nice patio (where is the fall weather). All we need is the old Guad’s (Ross Ave)& Herrera’s to come to Preston Hollow and I be reliving the 80’s again! Read more

We went Sunday night early and the place was already filled. We had no problems securing a table and was greeted almost... immediately by Jon, the owner. The margaritas and the food was excellent! Service by Herbert was perfect. The homemade chipsand salsa were wonderful..The elote fritters and the mexican stuffed donuts were amazing. We have found our new TexMex hangout! Read more

The best Tex-Mex food I have ever eaten! There\'s a new standard in town and Escondido is it. The guacamole is a sensation and... the queso is pure heaven. I can\'t wait to return. Such a lovely atmosphere too. Read more

We have needed another great patio in this area for a long time, so I\'m super glad to have Escondido in the neighborhood. Such... a solid vibe and great execution on the concept. It almost feels like a waste to sit here naming all the food I ate wheneverything on the menu is surely delicious, but I\'ll give special props to the spiced salmon tacos, which were bursting withflavor and had just the right amount of crunch. We all loved the elote fritters too, they were perfectly crispy on the outsidebut had an excellent lime crema corniness on the inside. My kids of course enjoyed their chicken tenders and quesadillas andwere much more amenable to the table time thanks to the crayons and drawable kids\' menu Escondido provided. We ended with theDulce de Leche Cream Donuts, which were perfect. Escondido nails all their textures and these were no exception with theirinterior creaminess and exterior sugary perfection. And I\'m still buzzin\' from the generously tequilified Weekend in Cabofrozen margarita.\n\nService here is on point: as friendly as one could ask for, even when my kids spilled a cup of water allover the floor during a busy night, and very attentive. Really just couldn\'t ask for a better experience.\n\nVery much lookingforward to future dines here. Read more
