Reviews for Ferris Wheelers Backyard and BBQ in Dallas, TX
Spicy fried okra. A Ferris Wheel in back. Those are the really unique items of this Entertainment Themed BBQ establishment. ... As for the rest of the place, well: City of Shiner sign, check, Coca Cola sign (but no Coke sold here) check, Texas Flagobjects, check, Dr Pepper sold here, check, beer varieties, check, Central Texas BBQ, check, wooden picnic tables, check, cowskull on wall, check, guitar on wall, check and large outdoor stage for outdoor concerts, check. Yes, I think all is in placefor a Texas BBQ joint to have success! I had brisket, ribs and okra for lunch. The meats had really good flavors. The rub wascomplimentary and not over powering. The provided vinegar based sauce was tart and not overly sweet. The cuts were meaty, moistand very appealing. The fried okra was perfectly fried. I wish the spices were toned down a couple of notches as a spiced outtongue misses flavors. I know there are some that would love it as it is! While my preference is for Southern tomato/molassessauce on BBQ, this was still pretty good and I know there are many that would love this place! Read more

Local BBQ joint just 5 minute walk from the Hilton Anatole. Simply designed inside, which leads you to believe they focus on... what matters, the BBQ. Good array of choices, I selected the 1/2 lb brisket, along with fries and slaw. Other offerings includedpork and ribs (which I should have ordered as well). The service was quick. The brisket was just right, juicy, but not overlyfatty. Fries were hot and crisp and the slaw was the perfect cool and creamy counterpart. For sauce lovers, they have one optionbut not a ton of selections (which is fine by me). It was a hot day so I was not able to enjoy the backyard Ferris wheel andseating. Definitely stop here if you are attending a conference at a local hotel. Read more

Fun location. Parking was valet for a nominal fee when we were there. We sat out back where you are waited on as opposed to... inside which is counter service. We tried almost everything and it was overall pretty seasoned and spicy. I enjoyed that butit was a bit heavy for others. Highlights on the sides were the fried okra bits and the potato salad. The meats were allwonderful. Read more
After arriving in Dallas we wanted something we don’t have at home. Quick google search near our hotel and found Ferris... Wheelers. Wow. So glad we gave it a try. The smoked Turkey was so delicious. The wife had the chopped brisket. The mashedpotatoes were very unique and a hit. The BBQ sauce is sweet with a small kick. If in Dallas you have to go by. The also haveoutside seating with a stage for live music. And to stay true to the name, a Ferris wheel. Read more
The food here was amazing! I had the brisket. It was moist (sorry people who hate that word), tender, and oh-so-good. The sauces... vary in flavor. I tried the mild. It was perfect. But I saved the best for last. Banana pudding. Oh my! Perfection! Just likemom used to make. Only better! Run, don’t walk to Ferris Wheeler’s Backyard for food, fun, and to be treated right! Read more
