Great spot for some good barbecue. It's a walk in and walk up style. Brisket is full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Pork... ribs are nice and meaty. Watch out for the spicy mac and cheese - it's hot. Also recommend the blue cheese and smoke housecoleslaw. Highly recommended for a good barbecue joint! Read more

Flew in from San Diego and missed lunch today so you've got to believe we loved the turkey, chicken, briscuit, sausage, potato... salad, and mac and cheese here. The BBQ sauce is quite peppery and the potato salad was a bit spicy but I personally enjoyedboth. I'm already craving the offerings again and wishing I'd tried the slaw, deviled eggs, and banana pudding. Read more

This place has the best ribs, hands down. They are huge! Lockhart is in a nice little niche part of South Dallas that's been... revitalized. The area has a nice feel. Parking is tight, may need to park down the street and walk. But the places around isvery eclectic. Warning the prices have gone up from $14.58/lb to $21.98 per lb for brisket and lean meat, so google menu isNOT correct. We got a 1/2 rack of ribs, 1 lb of brisket and 3 sides, bag of chips and bottled water. Total came to about $88.00.Very pricey $$. Read more

The best brisket I've ever had. Don't expect plates or silverware though. Served in butcher paper. Great baked beans (they have... a kick to them) awesome jalapeno Mac and cheese. Well worth the drive. So good Read more

Some of the best BBQ that I've ever had! Tried all 3 animals. The chicken & brisket were tender & delicious. The ribs were good... also, but I prefer a "you can pull the bone out" type rib. The sausage was good also with just the right amount of kick. Also, tried the potato salad & coleslaw. Both had a hint of spicy & were delicious as well! FYI there are no "plates", this is a bythe pound joint. Will definitely stop by again when I'm on that side of town. Read more

We tried a bit of all of their popular items - brisket, sausage, ribs, potato salad, blue cheese cole slaw and deviled eggs -... and enjoyed everything. The brisket was definitely our favorite and the sausage was our least favorite. Unfortunately they ranout of the shoulder clod, which sounded delicious. I guess that means we?ll just have to go back! The service was friendly andattentive. The restaurant is no frills (which we like) and you seat yourself after you place/pick up your order at the counterin the back. Definitely give it a try.
