Came here because of the rave reviews and was extremely disappointed. The sauce had a sweet tang to it which was strange. Some... tortellini were hot, some were cold.. not sure what happened there. Food came out very quickly. Read more

Place is okay. Di Mare dinner entree is small. Those aren't jumbo shrimp, jumbo clam, or jumbo squid making the dish look small... in my picture. Sauce is watery. Seasoning is mild. Place is tight. Staff are friendly. Atmosphere is cozy. Read more

Another wonderful evening at Porta Di Roma! This is our go to place for family events, special occasions, and hosting out of... town visitors. The food is always excellent, and the service (especially Olga) is outstanding. We literally feel like family, but don?t have to do any dishes! I am a lasagna guy, and if you can REALLY get it right, I?m over the moon. Their lasagna is myabsolute favorite. In fact this time I ordered 2 dinner portions (and was in absolute bliss). My wife ordered her favorite -manicotti, and other members of our party raved about the Gnocchi (pictured), the Stromboli, and the pizza, as well as calamariand of course the bread knots. Our favorite wine paring here is the Allegrini, Valpolicella. It?s exceptional, and very hard tofind anywhere else! We will certainly be back many more times. I have read reviews about takeout here being iffy sometimes, butin *dozens* of in person visits (over the last 13 years), we have NEVER had a bad experience. Read more

Ordered the $15.00 Penne di Casa and the entree's portion was smaller than the side of penne that came with the chicken... parmigiana. The chicken parm was super tough to cut through and the sauce in the picture is all that was included, so maybe a0.25 of a cup of marinara? Bread was so stale it snapped/crumbled apart when we tried tearing a piece off. Called therestaurant to try and get a refund and the person hung up on me. Read more

THIS RESTAURANT MAY BE UNSAFE. TL:DR - There was no manager on duty. I don't know about Dallas County, TX, in Harris County,... TX, that would be a health and safety violation. I was staying at the Crowne Plaza and ordered through the Slice app. The foodwas tasty. Our salad had been put on top of the hot entree and was very warm when the order arrived. Also, we got a plaincheesecake instead of the Italian cream cake we had ordered. Also, one of our flatware packets had been opened and the forkremoved. As I had ordered through Slice, I reached out to them. They reached out to the restaurant and were told by the personanswering that there was no manager at the location. Where I come from, that would be a health and safety violation. Read more

So yummy! Not bad prices for semi upscale food. Great bread. Nice to sit by the window too!

If I could give 0 starts I would. First time ordering and last. I don?t tend to do this but it?s a MUST after getting off the... phone with the lady at Porta Di Roma, I explained to her how all the sauces and some of the pasta had fallen out of thecontainers they provided. Obviously, due to the flaps of the container not been sealed properly she proceeded to be extremelyrude and said ?that?s not my fault? - my mouth dropped. There was no attempt to compensate for THEIR mistake, a simple apologywould?ve sufficed! After dealing with all that, the food wasn?t even that good. The pasta was over cooked and the chicken tastedlike rubber. I was excited about trying this for the first time, but it wasn?t worth the price or effort to deal with theterrible customer service and poor quality of food. Read more

We went on a Monday night and the place was pretty disorganized. There wasn?t a sign telling you to wait to be seated or to seat... yourself so we hand to hunt someone down to ask (FYI - it?s seat yourself). Once we were seated the service was pretty quick andthe food came out hot. I ordered calamari and small pizza and both were good (especially the pizza) and my friend orderedchicken parm and cheesy bread. The bread was fresh but it tasted like they put old garlic oil on it and cheese that wasn?tcompletely melted so it was like flaccid plastic, and they didn?t drain the pasta so his plate was a watery mess. I only saw oneperson working in there the whole time and, although there were people seated at the bar with drinks and food, I never once sawanyone behind it. All things considered, I thought it was pretty good. Read more
