Roman Cucina is a local privately owned Italian restaurant. We heard about the place via a random, unasked for comment, by a... total stranger who overheard us talking about places we might want to consider for dinner. Am I ever grateful that this persontook the time to interrupt the private conversation and suggest we try Roman Cucina. This was some of the best Italian foodthat I've had the opportunity to experience in a very long time. The shrimp scampi was a very generous portion loaded withflavorful lemon butter garlic sauce. The penne pasta was perfectly prepared, and the shrimp were fresh and tender. As anappetizer we tried the bruschetta bread and everyone in our party thought it was the best they'd ever had. It was made with inchand a half thick slices of freshly baked, crispy crust Italian bread and was full of flavors that just filled your mouth with ataste sensation. Yes, we thought it was that good. It is not a fancy place. The atmosphere is modest, most of the seats are oldstyle bench restaurant seats that look well worn, but reasonably cared for. There is a small bar area and some traditional tableand chair seating as well. The wall is filled with years worth of different pictures all themed around family. It makes for aninteresting setting. It is not a place that screams elegance or a quiet romantic dinner, neither does it have the commoninstitutional, artificially generated atmosphere so prevalent in chain restaurants. It's not that larger place, and it doesappear to be quite popular on a weeknight we had to wait about 15 minutes to get in but it was well worth the wait. There isimmediate on-site parking. I do not live in this area but to visit from time to time and this will be on my regular stop backlist. Buona Mangiata Read more

Setting is good, food is good, serving size is appropriate, though occasionally it's all underseasoned. I almost always have... leftovers, and it oddly enough tastes even better the next day. You can grab a drink or just enjoy family style dining like it'sthe early to mid 2000's and it's great. The setting is oddly dark, but that only adds to the ambience if you plan on taking adate here. Service is good, and though occasionally you'll find a server or two spread thin, they're all bright eyed and bushytailed and definitely earn their tips. Read more

Place was lovely and the appetiser we got was the bruschetta and it was refreshing and delicious as I remember! It started... getting very loud but to the point where we couldn't hear any of the staff when they'd speak to us but it was nice to know thelocation was lively! The pastas were hot and so comforting to eat( and a minor note is that shortly after we got our food thesauces started to separate which was strange?). I love this location and have been coming here for years but hadn't had a chancesince the pandemic started to visit, so happy its thriving! Overall loved the atmosphere and memories made here, how deliciousthe food, and how kind the staff was ! Update: partner and I ended up with stomach issues on our way to arriving home from therestaurant. Read more

My first time checking out this new place recommended by friends. I was pleasantly surprised with the service, atmosphere, and... quality of food. In my opinion one of the best Italian restaurants especially for the price to eat at! We?ll be back again! Read more

One of the few good Italian restaurants in DFW. Food is consistent and pastas are always cooked al dente. Portions are also... large, and all entrees come with a house salad. The lasagna is almost two inches thick! The only downside is it only takereservations for parties of 6 or more, so be prepared to wait or go early. Read more

This place was spectacular. I can easily see how they are able to just be lord 5 hours a day. The menu is beautiful, and there?s... really so many different options. I ended up getting the chicken parm with an Italian wedding soup instead of a salad. Myboyfriend got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo with the salad. Both of them were GREAT! the portions are Indians as well. We atethere for dinner last night and I just ate mine for lunch and I still have some to snack on tomorrow. The service is great aswell. Our waitress was attentive and helpful. I cant believe I?ve lived next to this place for years and never tried it. Ihighly highly highly recommend it. Also, get their baked meatball appetizer to start of the great meal. Read more
