I went here last week, and it was jam packed full. Even though it was very busy and the wait was a little long I can easily say... that all of the time I waited was worth it. The steak was juicy on the inside and had a nice crust on the outside and cooked toabsolute perfection. I can tell that all of the chefs in the kitchen take their time to make each dish perfect. I brought my parents to WITS to thank them for helping me throw my graduation party and we LOVED IT! The ambiance is incredible.... We loved all the artwork and the intimacy of the dining room. The food was also great! It’s South African inspired so some ofthe foods on the menu were unfamiliar, but I encourage you to try it anyway! My favorite dishes were the calamari and malvapudding. And to make things better, our server was hilarious. We will definitely be back! Read more
I’ve sat at the bar 3x and always enjoy my experience with angel the bartender(as I will be his regular). Must try the Lolita... drink and he also makes great old fashioned’s. I’ve sat in the dinning room 2x, manny and josh have both served on myparties and they were terrific. Crab cakes, A5, wagyu meatballs, seafood tower, and South African sausage were all verydelicious and all made to perfection. They offer great recommendations and are very thorough. The drinks and food are always onpoint every visit I’ve made. The whole team is just terrific and very welcoming, oh and I gotta say I love their musicplaylist just such great music compared to other steakhouses. John the GM is fantastic and takes his time to talk to each andevery table making us all feel welcomed and assuring great service. Beautiful place! Been here multiple times, sometimes to eat and others just for a quick drink. A lot of attention to decor and... detail. Definitely a date night place but also lovely for cocktails and hanging out at the bar - angel Behind the bar is greatand so much fun- and I definitely appreciate the tasteful artwork. We lived the Delmonico steak, the bone marrow, scallops werefresh and delicious as well, and the wagyu on the rock was fun as you get to cook your own meat. Truly a great meal. There were some hiccups that I would not expected from a high-end place such as this. Our waitress Mercedes... was over the top, in all aspects. Our hostes, her name slips me, sorry, was very nice and attentive and kept the tables full.The bar staff had the most issues with very slow drink times, Mercedes actually had to go behind the bar to get me a beer, needsa bit improvement here (the drinks were poured well though.) As for the meal over the top. We had the Rack of Lamb and theTomahawk with mushrooms, broccoli and brussels, totally loved them. The steak was done to perfection as well as the Lamb. We made a reservation on Friday before Valentine and was placed at a very nice booth towards the end of the restaurant. We first... sat down and waited about 20 minutes before our server came to take order of our drinks. We then have to wait another 20 minutesto have our 2 glasses of wine. We then proceed to order our food, which were a bone marrow dish as appertizer, a NY Prime thatwas asked to be cooked medium rare, and a Miso Black Cod dish. We waited a good 45 minutes for our appertizers to come out.After we finish that dish, we and other tables (3-4 tables) have to wait a good 1hour to 1.5hour before our food even comeout.... We have asked our serve about the wait time for our food and each time we got the response of "the kitchen being backedup". It was just comical that upon arrival we were told by the manager that there is a cap of 90 minutes for our table and wedefinitely surpassed that limit while waiting for our food. As we were about to ask for our check to leave, our food came out.The steak was rare not medium rare. Please see pictures for reference. My black cod dish didnt even have any miso sauce or anysauce in general... Overall, such a bad experience for us. The server did their best but it was definitely management andkitchen issues. The food was spectacular. The lobster truffle linguine, rib eye steak and Oscar filet were favorites at our table. From the... Kisler wine to the strawberry cake, all was delicious! Manny and Gabriel were fun and we did not have to ask for anything, theydelivered excellent service! We will be back. Read more
