Wonderful! Off the beaten path just outside Damariscotta village but well worth a visit! Cozy, intimate, amazing food and so... beautifully presented. The interior walls consist of hundreds of books you can take out or read while dining. The staff arefriendly, knowledgeable and engaging. After a half-dozen visits to Ann's Book Bistro, it's clear that it's the real bistro deal. A varied, eclectic menu appropriately... changes with seasonal ingredients and the chef's creativity. Even the menu classics, like the bistro burger, stand out, with abeautiful brioche bun and perfectly cooked meat and choice toppings. The bistro salad is a special delight. But if you reallywant to get the most out of a meal there, pick one of the daily specials. House-made pasta dishes excel, as does the classicSpanish paella for two (which I ate entirely by myself, selfish as I am). There is a cozy bar at one side of the dining room andthe thousands of books lining shelves around the room give it a relaxed, comfortable ambiance. The staff is wonderfully friendlyand actively care about your experience. There is also a great outdoor dining patio, built and cleverly decorated by the chefhimself and a great place to eat with friends. We enjoyed the paella for two prepared by Chef Chris. No words convey the unique presentation and savory deliciousness. Our... server, Arlie was so fun and welcoming. Amazing food. We?ve eaten here 3 times now, and can?t pick our favorite. Although the tomato-fennel soup today was unreal today.... Chris Padel, the chef of some renown from Barcelona and NYC has worked in some of the great kitchens. The whole menu isavailable at any time since he makes everything from scratch. Read more
Ann's Book Bistro is such a gem of a restaurant. The staff working there are all phenomenal and extremely personable. The food... is always INCREDIBLE from the Seafood Coconut Curry Pasta to the insanely delicious Paella! The Chef/Co-Owner is from Spain sohe absolutely knows how to master this traditional dish. They also pride themselves in sourcing as much of their produce andproteins locally which you can tell in the favors of each item you consume here. The drinks and desserts are also lovely! Thespace is so cozy, the music is great, it feels like you are visiting good friends each time! So lucky to have such a great spotfor Spanish food in Midcoast Maine! Read more
Absolutely delicious, a little hidden gem in Maine. The staff is great, the environment cozy and the Chef?he leaves your taste... buds asking for more food. The paella is authentic and delicious, as it should be since the Chef is from Spain. The charcuterieis versatile and so satisfying it makes you feel as though you would be complete having just that for dinner. Each dish hassomething unique to make it special. To say the food is outstanding is an understatement! The burger was cooked to perfection and I was so sad when I knew I was at... my last bite :( I just wanted more. This place is pricey BUT, worth it! Great food, wonderful vegan options (the chef worked with us). We went early this spring and... heard some lovely spanish guitar over dinner. The ambiance is 100% if you like books . Read more
