Showed up not knowing reservations were recommended. The hostess graciously found us a table. Food was delicious, I had the... salmon, French loaf was perfectly toasted, shrimp wrapped bacon with that bourbon glaze... That was like dipping shrimp insyrup, amazing! Atmosphere is great, just across the street from the ocean. Ample parking. They're menu has a lot of greatchoices, hard to decide which Entree to pick. My daughter had the fish & chips, cod was really large pieces and not too muchbreading on it, very tasty. Definitely a place to check out! Read more

The outdoor and indoor settings are great. Outside seating has tables and large couch seating. It’s under beautiful trees and... is a warm cozy setting. The inside bar feels like cheers where friends and family relax and enjoy the friendly bar with greatdrinks. The food is very good. We tried one of everything but the hamburger was cooked perfectly with a mix of addeditems. The flatbread was rather dry and wouldn’t recommend it. (Perhaps it was over cooked. The location is great andthere’s lots of parking. It really feels like you are in a wooded cabin even though you are near pacific coasthighway. It’s busy for good reasons - most of our friends go at least twice a month. You can also book a party or eventthere. Enjoy every bite and relax in the lovely setting Read more

Food was good, but I feel it felt a little much with the add on of the sushi menu. Went with the team and there was real... disappointment with the butter cake, it was definitely not great. I will probably not return anytime soon. Read more

Drinks, appetizer and steak were really good, the creme brûlée was not. But the waitress took it out of our bill. Thank you !

I enjoyed the service and the food. However, the place is a little pricy for the quantity that they serve. There is a small... garden room in the back, perfect for tea or a small private party. The location is beautiful and great for pictures. Read more

The Salt Creek Grille is a lovely restaurant, tucked away on the west side of the Monarch Bay Plaza but still easy to find. The... décor has an elegant craftsman style to it with both indoor and outdoor seating. My wife and I went on a Saturday a littleafter 4:00 p.m. We were seated right away even though we did not have a reservation. Our server was very friendly and helpfulsince we haven’t been to this place many times. We started with a Huckleberry Lemonade which was very refreshing and not toostrong. Next, we ordered the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, and the prawns were very large with the bacon having some chew to it. Thehoney chipotle sauce that came with it added a bit of tangy sweetness to the salty bacon and the bit of spicy horseradish thatwas stuffed into the shrimp. We also had the Caesar Over Mesquite, which is a wedge of grilled romaine with asiago. The sweet, smoky taste of the mesquite carries through on every bite and it is a unique dish I highly recommend. For the main course wehad the Coffee-Encrusted NY cooked medium rare that came with seasonal vegetables and mashed potatoes. The steak was justdelicious. The coffee crust added an extra taste of bitter, combined with slightly creamy, sourness of blue cheese. Theseasonal vegetables were not overcooked but didn’t really add much to the plate. The only weak player on the plate was themashed potatoes, which were dense and a little dry, with no mentionable flavor on its own. Next time, I may need to ask for alittle gravy on the side. Last item was desert, which we had the Blueberry Cheesecake with a reduced seasonal fruit glaze. Itwas light for a cheesecake but sweet and enjoyable. Overall, this was a very nice meal and I hope to return soon. Read more
