The food was great. They have lots of selections. Very generous portions. I really enjoyed the special which was salmon... pappardelle. The truffle Parmesan fries were delicious. The only con is that they do not have Guinness on tap. Service waspolite. Would recommend. Read more

First time dining at Prime Pub. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, however, the food fell short. The "wood fire" pizza... resembled gas station pizza. The flavors were bland in the Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. Ordered a steakthat came out over done and dry - first time sending back a steak. For the prices they charge, the food should be better. Read more

This was such a treat! When other restaurants are cutting back on quality and service, Prime Pub Danbury is excelling. Our food... was nicely presented and tasted great. Our server was awesome and helped us enjoy a nice business lunch. I look forward toreturning the next time I'm in the area! Read more

Connecticut really seems to be in love with the ski lodge, bougie pub vibes. That is by no means a negative, but I can think of... close to 10 restaurants I've been to in the Danbury/Woodbury area that are similar in theme. Prime Pub is right by the chaoticmeeting of Routes 7 and 84, and I imagine this is not a pleasant place to drive around in circa rush hour; luckily, I had theforesight to come for a weekday lunch. The interior is very spacious - high ceilings, oodles of high-top tables and plenty ofroom to roam. It's tough to feel cozy with so much space to work with, but this place masters that delicate balance well. Idecided to warm up the cheeks with the Strawberry Bourbon Smash ($12.50), featuring bourbon (of course), strawberry puree, lemonjuice and rhubarb bitters. It was good, but not great - you can sense the potential, but it's lacking something to offset thesweet tartness (maybe ginger beer?). As a result, it reminded me a LITTLE too much of cough syrup. I thought the driedstrawberry garnish was a nice touch and I might consider ordering it again, but I wasn't blown away. For my entree, I went withthe lamb burger (I think about $18.50) on the specials menu, which had feta cheese on it. The lamb was very tasty, and I waspleasantly surprised at how well the feta cheese complemented the animal. I ordered it medium rare and it was probably closer tomedium, medium well. As a result, it was a bit dry but still a solid burger. The fries it came with were perfectly crispy - Iwas a big fan. My dining companion had the prime Kobe patty melt ($15.99), which she said was cooked perfectly, medium rare, but the cheese was a bit tasteless and gooey. Her tater tots were excellent, and the vanilla creme brulee was good ($9), butslightly overcooked/dry. I thought the price point for all items was pretty on par for the area and restaurant type. Theservice was excellent, no issues there. Our server was attentive/friendly and stopped by on a regular basis thro Read more
