Not Service Dog Friendly, went Sunday morning beautiful day out, wanted to sit at a table in the front yard in the sun and was... told that dog seating is only the table in the back covered in shade, I am not a vegan service dog owner, and I barely seldompull the card, but I did this time and asked if there was anyway that me and my service dog could sit at a table in the sun andI was told no but she would go ask the owner if she would make a special concession for me, I don’t like that, I chose toleave with no drama.. the waitress actually quoted so-called Alabama law that states that they must have a designated pet areathat includes service dogs also. From the hustle & bustle of the two servers an a few others back an forth with no customers within the restaurant ruined the... quaint atmosphere that it could potentially have. When we got our table it was like any other restaurant. Our order wastaken, Water an coffee served to my guest was fine, the orange juice was put in a weird wine glass instead of a regularcup? In the moment of my clumsiness I tipped over my cup an knocked over the frail cup or orange juice. The (our) server an twoother women sat near our table bickering for some unknown reason. Not loud, but enough to hear the whole conversation. But notquiet enough to hear my glass cup tipped over. I cleaned up the mess myself in my embarrassment but only after finding thehidden napkins within the drink bar? With no one paying attention even though they were next to us. Next was food. The Frenchtoast tasted alright, it was the gelatinous egg goo that did it for me. Think of liquid hard boiled egg whites with no flavoras a dress for this roll of a French toast. Bacon was good. What made me rather upset, the server couldn't even remember tobring, offer any type of condiment for the French toast. I had to physically get it myself from the server area because againthe waitress wasn't paying attention. My grandmother's grits were horrid. Biscuit was sweet for some reason, An eggs overcooked. From the lack of people at the restaurant we expected a little more than a C- meal. For the 25$ we paid. Could havegotten a better meal an service at a waffle house. Read more

Went here for the first time today and overall it wasn't too bad. Homey atmosphere which was nice, they were packed and busy so... the staff seemed stressed but they still made attempts to be polite and friendly. I wanted something on the lighter side so Iordered the spinach strawberry salad with grilled chicken and my boyfriend got a fried catfish plate and some sides. Everythingof his was delicious; the Lima beans were great and the catfish had a nice crispy breading that was well seasoned. Everythingabout my salad was great except... the chicken. It was horrid and I don't use that word lightly. It tasted like it never saw anactual grill as implied in the title, but rather a microwave that nuked it almost past the point of being edible a few minutesbefore it was given to me. It was extremely tough and dry. I joked to my boyfriend that if I threw a piece of it at somebody, itwould probably knock them out. Thankfully the salad had enough of the other fixings to fill me up so that was at least a plus:the spinach looked and tasted fresh, the nuts and strawberries and feta were delicious and plentiful, and the dressing was greaton top of it all as well. The chicken situation was pretty disappointing especially for the price, but I wouldn't say it wasenough to keep me from trying this place again. I'll just have to order something different next time. Read more

We find it to be very good home cooking. I haven't had anything that wasn't enjoyable, a good place for Sunday lunch or brunch.... we do wish they would have the Squash Casserole more often.. We also wish they would consider maybe taking a few tables out ofthe front room, so that the people waiting would not be rubbing all over the one's sitting there trying to eat. I'm sure itwould be most appreciated! The staff is very nice and helpful, but also very busy, so be patient and kind. We would highlyrecommend for breakfast or lunch. Oh, and they sell their sweet spicy pickles! Read more

Gorgeous spot for a great southern breakfast! One of the most pleasant breakfasts we’ve had in years! Lovely tables under... the beautiful big trees outside, doggo was super happy, and so were we! The food was amazing - everything homemade, right downto the jams and jellies. Adorable southern house turned restaurant, the people are really wonderful and welcoming, as are theother patrons. If I lived here, I’d be here every week. Absolutely beautiful! Read more
