I have never left a negative review in my life. This one though deserves my time and energy to say that the gal who was working... here was one of the most rude and unfriendly people I have ever met. Sorry.. but if you work in the service industry then atleast "try"! Whoever runs this establishment needs to address this ASAP.. we realize that help is hard to come by but for thisone reason only we will never come back nor would we ever recommend it to anyone else :-( Update: Amazing... Apparently when acustomer leaves a review, rude employees feel the need to verbally corner the customer in a store just before getting on theferry. She had the perfect opportunity to apologize and I would have been more than cordial to have a nice conversation withher. Instead she felt the need to "loudly vent" (aka yell) about her personal problems to both me and the poor woman working inthe small store just as you get on the ferry. As far as the general store area grocery selection was good, tacos and pizza were good, pricing was as expected for the island... no complaints there. However low rating is due to the fact the staff was EXTREMELY unfriendly and down right rude. Never asmile, never a thank you, did not want to be bothered with answering any questions. The first day didn?t think much about iteverybody has a bad day, but they attitude was the same every visit. Unfortunately there aren?t a lot of other options on theisland so we had to keep going back. As for the bar, the bar tender was friendly and personable but the drinks weren?t thatgreat. Read more

D'Fuskies embodies what Daufuskie is all about! Great food, fabulous location with a little bit of fun and quirky thrown in for... good measure. The store is well stocked and has a little bit of everything you might need for your stay. The pizza is great andthe sandwiches are delicious. What a welcome addition to the island! I love the general store, but for proximity to where we stay, this is great! They have an... array of household items and pre-made sandwiches for the beach! We didn?t try the pizza but had cooked sandwiches for lunch(they were so large, we could have split one). It was also great to walk down to the bar area and grab some ice and a cocktail. Read more

Y'all, go to D'fuskies. The only good lunch on the island and the only place to get grocery type stuff. The staff is awesome.... Leigh Anne is an especially friendly and helpful person. Just one word of advice. Don't go in and ask stupid questions, no onethat lives on the island appreciates it when we're asked for the umpteen millionth time where stuff is and how long we've livedhere. GPS and Google maps works just fine here so use those for directions. Read more

There are only 2 places to buy basic house needs or staples on the island and this is one of them. I realize this is a tourist... location and there's a matter of convenience to get things you may need while staying here, but the prices are crazy. Thebrunette cashier wasn't rude but extremely unfriendly and hated answering questions anyone asked regarding island food spots,activities or directions (not my questions, but others in line ahead of me). I paid for my $10 gallon of water without receivinga hello, thank you, or a smile. A couple miles down the road is a larger store with a much friendlier, more appreciative staff.Prices were slightly better at the other store but for me, attitude goes farther anyway. Read more
