Food was not up to par this go around. The cheesy fries was not served ready made. The hot dog frank with added bacon, chili and... cheese was not ready made and was on the side. it was more of side dish, rather then part of the meal. the only good part of ourexperience here was the onion rings and the shakes the staff was not friendly. stayed behind the counter and talked. When askingfor utensils the staff came off as if we were burdening them, moved as slow as they could & overheard when staffing membergriping to himself because he had to clean up one of the tables behind us from previous. Which to my knowledge is what issupposed to be considered part of his normal job tasks to actually earn the pay they?re given. It?s disheartening to see howmuch this time place has gone downhill with the employees lackluster attitudes towards not wanting to actually work for theirpay rates & it shows through the quality of service & food provided when we come through. This used to be one of my favoriteplaces to go to get a good meal & a uplifting with the positive atmosphere you can feel when walking in the doors. Read more
This place has gone downhill. The food is still good, but the atmosphere is not at all. When we walked in, we were greeted with... a strong odor almost like a locker room mixed with meat. The bathrooms are filthy and almost all the tables were dirty withbarely any customers inside. Again, the food is good, but that's all. Read more
S L O W would a compliment for this place. Death comes faster for some. Waited over 50 MINUTES for blech food. simple order.... Grilled cheese. Burger and 2 fries. When we ordered place was 1/4 full of customers. Dirty tables. Will never ever comehere. Find a dumpster and eat the leftovers before stopping here. Read more
Came in to order a quick bite before our movie. We were told before ordering they "weren't taking any more orders until after... 5pm". There was a baseball team in there but didn't look as if they were too backed up. That's fine. We will spend our moneyelsewhere. Another iconic restaurant that's gone downhill. Read more
While it may look appealing it was the most terrible chili 5 way i have ever had. It was too salty, no flavor, and the... spaghetti noodles were way way over cooked. And now with the kiosk and you have to pick your order up you can not tell anyoneabout your food or the service or anything. It doesn't feel like the store or people care any more. I have always lookedforward to steak and shake and sadly this visit will forever be the last. I will not ever come back if this is the "new" steakand shake it's just very appalling that things changed to the point of not being at all any kind of service. Might as well closethe doors and stick it in the freezer section because i have had better meals from the frozen foods section. Steak and shake hasalways been the place for comfort food and be affordable. Turning it in to fast food has made it worse than any other fast foodplace i have been to except 1 who also changed everything. Good thing i can cook because i am going to make a copy cat. They give you a lot of food for the price that is a given. What I ordered turn out to be not so good and that was the garlic... Burger. They put a sauce on top of the bun which makes it very hard to eat and Messi. I also found it to be too salty for mytaste. But they do give you a lot of food. Read more
They are very technical advanced also. I am iffy on this in a fast food place only for the older generation (like my Dad was)... that deal with everything by a check or cash. But enjoyed our time here because of a employee out cleaning the dining room. Shewas very pleasant and talkative. Something you never get in fast food. Unfortunately I don't think her manager was happy withher spending time talking with us that was a little upsetting. Anytime you have an employee willing to talk with customersshould be welcomed. I understand if it was friends etc.. but he knew we weren't that yet made it clear for her to move on. Veryunfortunate and upsetting. Read more
