The service was very friendly, but a little slow to help us out even though I?m pretty sure we were her only table. The food for... the most part was really well done. We went for breakfast and the menu wasn?t overwhelming which was a good thing for us. Good,Spicy Bloody Mary. My biggest complaint is how much grease was in the bottom of my Midwest bowl. Read more

The service was fantastic. The server was very kind and refilled our drinks promptly. The food took awhile despite how few... tables were seated, but the worst was the shrimp cocktail. We ordered two shrimp cocktail appetizers which were fairly bad. Ithad less than four shrimp in each cocktail and the sauce was extremely celery salty. It was too salty to enjoy and the sauceitself tasted like concentrated bloody mary mix. For how expensive it was I'd expect to get a few more shrimp and a betterflavor. My dad's burrito was good, though. I would give it no stars, but our server was excellent. They deserved five starsalone. Read more

So Viva is going through a transition, when we were there the server said they were moving away from Mexican and towards a Farm... to Table theme. The food had been amazing in the past, but this time it was not. Poor presentation of the food, food qualitywas okay but tacos were definitely not worth $13 more like $5. Service was good this time but it took them forever to get usour drinks from the bar. We also had Sangria and a top shelf margarita that was not worth the price. So I'm not sure our visitthis time was so bed because Viva has an identity crisis but we will not be going there again. Read more

We were staying at the hotel, and ate breakfast there at Viva. We were seated immediately and got our coffee, but they never... refilled our cups so we had to do ourselves. Our food took over an hour to arrive. First we were offered free Mamosas, whichwe declined, still didn't get our food! Told the waitress we were going to complain to management (turns out there was none onsite). Eventually got the meal comped. I can't blame the waitress, she was working her butt off! They were short staffed. We didn't return despite our 3 night stay. The food was good once we got it, but definitely not worth the trouble. Read more

I was with a group of about 20 people for work meetings. The manager was informed earlier that day we would be coming in for... dinner and drinks and she promised they would be ready with extra wait staff and bartenders. Unfortunately this was not thecase. We were seated immediately but our drink orders were not taken for at least 20 minutes after we sat down. Our mealorders were not taken for at least another 20-30 min. The waitress that was serving us did the best she could under thecircumstances and we have no complaints against her. The other employees and the manager on duty did absolutely nothing to helpthis poor girl. Not only were we not happy with the service the food was not good. It had no flavor and just very bland. Ipersonally will never step foot in your doors again and I know others I was with had said the same thing. Read more

I brought my out-of-town guest to Viva because the food has always been excellent. (The service has always been slow, however.)... Our waitress forgot about us because she was dealing with a wedding party. The food was exceptionally spicy. I love spicy foodbut this was inedible. I grabbed a pitcher of water off the bar because our water glasses had not been refilled during theentire meal. We continued to wait for our bill for quite awhile (20 minutes?). It wasn?t until a manager of the Current walkedby and saw us looking displeased that our waitress came to our table with our check and apologized that she?s so busy, sheforgot about us. There was other wait staff, standing around talking. I?ve never not left a tip for wait staff until thatnight. The decor and ambiance is nice. Oh and the salsa and guacamole are good as well. Amazing menu, heathy mexican food made with proper ingredients. Viva is the classiest taco joint ever! Great lunch specials.... Complete lunch meals with a soda for $10 and under! I had the two taco deal. I had one grilled fish taco and one fried fishtaco. Two primo fish tacos with rice and beans plus a soda, $10 at lunch. Also a 3 taco meal deal is $15. Best value for apescatarian meal downtown, hands down. Read more

The staff tries hard, but this place just isn't worth it. I don't see it being around very long. There are more tequilas on the... menu then actual food. And the food offerings are just... Odd. You can tell they were trying for some high class Mexican fusioncuisine, but it just didn't work. Our experience. Party of 10+ on a weeknight. We had reservations. The menu doesn't describethe food well, and had to be explained. Lots of questions. They have one actual steak dish on the menu, but they ran out.According to the server, they had been out of steak for several days. Some of our dishes arrived to the table cold and sloppy. They serve chips and salsa. The chips were stale and tasteless. Environment... It looks like a hotel lobby. White Stone wallsand floors. Very artistic light fixtures. In general very bright, white and clean. It echoed a lot and was hard to hear. All inall, the staff tries hard, but it's just not worth it. I won't be going back and I don't recommend it to others either. Read more
