Whiteys is among the few excellent fish restaurants in lower Michigan. The prices are reasonable, especially for lunch, which... has the same generous portions as dinner. I prefer the coconut cod, but all looked delicious. The fish tacos have a secret saucemaking them the best I?ve tasted. Lackluster evening. Ordered an avocado burger that came out with literally two halves shoved on top. Maybe cut them or paste but... just two halves. Burger tasted atrocious, dry, and flavorless. Ordered coconut shrimp, not until 5 minutes before they wereslated to be out did they say they didn?t have the sauce, didn?t get anything. Two other people near me said don?t bring it out.30 minutes to tell me? Salad bar was less than half filled and sauces looked old with other foods floating in it. 5/5 starsprior 1st visit, 2/5 2nd visit, don?t know if I?ll make the 40 minute drive again. Understand that I have never cared for fish or fish restaurants. I was taken here back in the late 70's and I was hooked... immediately! The fish is fresh, delicious and I have never had anything but a top notch meal here. Divine fresh baked bread andfull salad bar is included in the meal. They know how to do fish! Read more

My first time going August 10, 22. I ordered the 2 piece fish dinner that came with fries and salad bar. The fish was lightly... coated with batter and weren't greasy at all, good fries. Nice selection of items at the salad bar. Our waitress was very good, checked back often on us. Staff was very friendly. Nautical theme inside. My friend ordered the fish sandwich it also camewith 2 pieces of fish in it with a branded bun. I took half my meal home, hubby ate it as soon as I got in lol Read more
Excellent customer service from the waitstaff! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. The food was fairly good. I had... the cod and jumbo shrimp combo. The cod was a little thick for my taste, I prefer the thinner pieces and one of my pieces had areal soggy bottom. I also wasn't too fond of their homemade tarter sauce, a little too creamy and not enough relish. The shrimpwas good, I only wish and expected it to be battered the same way as the cod. It had a hard sort of crunchy bredding. Overallit was good though, these are mostly just preferences of mine. Read more
We enjoyed a great supper here this evening with friends! There aren't many restaurants in our area that have fresh fish and... seafood, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the menu. I asked for a fruity cocktail and our server recommended a CaptainNemo. It was really refreshing and did not disappoint. They have a great salad bar! The only thing I was a little bummed aboutwas that they didn't have bleu cheese dressing. I love cold peas and they had a really good pea salad that had peanuts init. The lobster bisque was flavorful and my supper was amazing. I had no regrets about adding on a lobster tail for an extracharge. The lemon blueberry cake was equally as delish as it was pretty. The portion sizes were very generous, so I brought alot of what I ordered home for lunch tomorrow. I definitely plan on visiting again. Next time I plan on trying the Great Lakesfish. If you don't want to dine in, they also have a carry out building in the same parking lot. Read more
Honestly, never been to this place before but I can definitely say it was a great first time experience. I got snow crab with a... side of sweet potato casserole. The crab was amazing, they even served it with a little butter cup with a lit candle under it tokeep it heated. The sweet potato casserole was a solid 7-10, it was a little tart not so much "sweet" but in general it wasn'tbad at all. Had some fish and jumbo shrimp for an appetizer and it was amazing. The fish was the best I've ever had at arestaurant, honestly. I 10/10 recommend this place to anyone looking for good, quality food. It was a bit pricey for us but allaround not bad at all. It's what you'd expect for a really good sit down restaurant. Read more
