The prices are outrageous if you don?t pay cash. A small flan that was supposed to come with whipped cream and a cherry came... plain. When I asked they told me they were out of whipped cream. The price on the menu $4.25 and they told me the price went up$0.81 because paying with my card even they brought the flan incomplete. My son?s beef soup came with three big chunks ofovercooked, hard meat. He have to put in a a plate to cut and he never finished eating because it was too hard. They evencharged extra for a spicy sauce for the soup. The bathrooms disgusting, old and dirty. I told my son my first experience in aMexican Restaurant and the last. We have been going to El Jinete almost every week since we moved to Dawsonville two years ago. The service has always been good,... and the food was delicious. More importantly, the prices were good. However, recently the service has been slacking. It?s okay,but sometimes it?s slow just to get drinks and usually one of our items is forgotten until we remind the waiter of it. They alsoturned off the TV in the middle of our meal one night because we were talking about the dog show while still eating, and it wasgetting late. We completely understand that people don?t live there and they needed to go, but we left a good tip, as always,and it was only five minutes past closing. Today was the final straw. Our food was good, as usual, but when we got the bill itwas $68. I was absolutely flabbergasted. $14 for a large cheese dip is outrageous, and not a single price reflected the menu?sprice. Even if menu prices have changed and we just got an old menu, to see an almost double increase in cheese dip price isshocking. I understand that the restaurant has a surcharge for using a card, but it?s applied at the end, not on every item. Wealso ordered a fajita taco salad, so I?m not sure what the upcharge on the chicken was for. All in all, the price was not worththe food or service at all.
