I had the chicken fried steak with for lunch and it was excellent- tender and delicious! We also had Buffalo Salisbury with... gravy and it was also tender and delicious. Crystal was our server and was pleasant attentive and efficient while tending tothe entire area herself! Awesome food and service and good prices. The steaks were absolutely terrible the fries were cold and the asparagus was not even edible. We sent our steak back to have... it remade and another table near us had to send his back. When we got our re made steak back it was not very good. I would notrecommend this place to anyone. Service was great but the food didn?t even pass a chain steak house in quality. $80 before atip wasted. Read more
Food was good as was the service. I have to deduct points for atmosphere. When you come to Deadwood with a head full of old west... sentiments, you don't expect a place like The Gem to look and feel like a dining room in a 1970s era American Legion hall. Washoping it would be even SOMEWHAT in character, but alas it was extremely mundane. Read more
The pancakes were so fluffy and filling. I ordered 3 of them but was filled up on only 2 of them. Great food. We come here once... a year and this is our breakfast spot unless we do the buffet at silverados. Definitely would recommend. Read more

June 8, 2022. I will start by saying they have the best country fried steak I have ever had!! Everything else was very good... also. Cheap mixed drinks which are larger than normal. Staff was super friendly. Our service was great. Read more
Oh. My. Goodness. This place was great! Delicious food. There was a bit of a wait but we didn't mind. There was only 2 ladies... working the whole place and they did a amazing job at keeping everything flowing smoothly. Hands down to them, they wereawesome!! Read more
My wife and I were hoping for a good dinner but her steak had a weird texture I'm guessing from mechanical and chemical... tenderizing but amazingly it was still quite tough, I ordered the prime rib medium rare but it came very rare, the kitchen didtake it back and it came out better but it was quite gristly. I would have been embarrassed to serve either piece of meat toguests. Maybe we just hit an off night. Read more
