Lunch special of beef chimichanga and Chile relleno, with frozen raspberry margarita. The drink and food were meh.
Avoiding this place at all costs from now on. Basically the environment is ?we don?t want you here? while ?we don?t care if we... serve rancid or cold food? to people and servers can?t be bothered to do more than below the bare minimum of their job. To feellike I?m a bother just for sitting down in a restaraunt 55 minutes before closing doesn?t sit right, and the servers readingthis review probably wish something bad to happen to me, and you got what you wanted with day 2 of food poisoning. Used to be my favorite restaurant. Ate here at least once per week. Last time, it was laundry day, and I only had a bunch of... coin change in my pocket to leave as a tip. It was $5+ in coin change, which was actually a great tip compared to my total bill,over 25%. I figured money is money, right? Apparently not. The next time I tried to eat here, I was approached by the owner /manager immediately, who had a strong accent and was very rude / condescending when I couldn?t hear what he was saying over theloud music / environment. He loudly exclaimed ?DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?? and said his servers were ?insulted? by the tip left incoin change. And that they would rather I not leave a tip at all in the future. I thought money was money, right? Wrong. Ididn?t mean to ?insult? anybody. It was laundry day and it was all I had. With how embarrassing they made the situation, muchado over nothing, I am afraid to eat here again. What if they do something to my food because they were ?insulted? ? One timethere was a mysterious object in my bowl of chips. I know what it looked like, but who knows what it was... Needless to say Ididn?t eat that bowl of chips. I?ll let the pictures of it speak for themselves... might be some sort of problem going onhere... I don?t know. I?ve seen similar things elsewhere before... not usually in food. Very unsettling. As soon as I walked in I loved the ambiance with the decorative pieces to the music - just perfect. We were greeted and sat... immediately. They gave out chips and salsa to start and the chips were nice and warm. It doesn?t seem like the staff was thattalkative almost like something was wrong so not sure what that?s about but all together very amiable. Whatever chile sauce theygave us was great! Great kick to it and they have reasonable combo prices. They?ve got everything too from tortas to churros andice cream. This place is also in a great location with plenty of parking in the back. I saw a lot of people in the restaurant bythe time I left too so seems pretty popular here. Hopefully I?ll be back in the future! Read more
Overall, 4 out of 5 stars. The atmosphere was delightful. We were met with a warm welcome. The lighting was adequate as well as... the decore. The service was wonderful. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu, and extremely pleasant. The chipsand salsas was extremely good. The salsa had a well balanced flavor, and you could tell it was made fresh. I had the CaliforniaBurrito. Which was flavorful and filling. My friend had the Shrimp Mexican Tacos and he informed me that they were good aswell. The reason for the the 4 star set was cleanliness. It wasn't baby, but wasn't the best. The bathroom had paper towels onthe floor. The table was a bit sticky. And some of the decore had dust on them. 4 out of 5 stars ???? Read more
To start, the service was good, very attentive and nice young lady waitress? BUT this rating is for the food. This was the WORST... steak taco I?ve ever had. It?s like it was made with steakums or some other frozen shaved beef. Definitely not fresh grilledflank steak or sirloin as it should be. Is this supposed to be ?authentic? Mexican food?? If your next meal isn't at Don Taco your cheating yourself! You'll appreciate the colorful, comfortable, and clean dining room.... The open kitchen concept allows dinners to see their meal being prepared. Nothing to hide here! The margaritas are wellbalanced and served in an appropriately sturdy glass with a salted rim (of course) and a friendly lime wedge garnish to completethis familiar cocktail. These won't be the reason you come back, but they're good. Fresh, house-made salsa with semi-house madetortilla chips are brought to the table upon being greeted. The salsa is bright in both color and taste! A nice, slow, building,medium heat slightly lingers in the mouth after a few bites and you'll be happy for the beautiful melody of flavors thataccompany the spice of this salsa. I ordered the lunch portion (2) of the Mexican Tacos and I chose shrimp as my protein.Steak, chicken, shrimp, Mahi Mahi, and veggie, are the meat options. All served with your choice of corn or flour tortillas andsides of refried beans, Spanish rice, fresh Pico de Gallo, and green chili sauce. Flavorful, fresh, and completelydelicious! Seemingly small restaurant but once you walk in there's actually a good amount of space. Nice Mexican restaurant... vibe/atmosphere. Legit tacos (onion & cilantro) served. However, with the al carbon (or maybe all of them), the onions aregrilled (I suppose to accommodate those who don't like fresh onions). Al carbon was NOT dry and was flavored okay but I wasexpecting more of grilled and sliced pieces of meat versus shredded or ground beef. Also relatively bigger serving compared toother Mexican restaurants. Rice and beans were also good. Although the rice was a little oily. Flan was not the greatest becauseit wasn't smooth. The online menu directed from the QR code in the restaurant does not have up-to-date prices.
