I can drive to many places for a classic coney dog, but when I want the top dog in town, I gotta go to Joe's! For 40 years,... Joe, Zoya, and the crew have been cookin' 'em up hot and fresh with tasty chili, plenty of onions, and mustard. The pandemiccaused a change or two - no more Friday night jazz or weekend dining - but the food and customer interaction is still top notch. Tons of free parking, and the breakfasts and other lunch items (like the club sandwich) are palette-pleasers, too. Read more
For years now, Ive occasionally stopped at this place and am a fan of the old diner style Coney Island burger joints. But sadly,... my most recent visit was just frustrating and disappointing. Perhaps they were just having a bad day, or someone called in sick,I don't know, but yikes! Sitting at a sticky table, surrounded by other non bussed tables, waiting 40mins for a dried out cheeseburger and soggy onion rings, with only 1 other customer in the place... Well, when the burger arrived tough and way overcooked, the impression left from that visit wasn't great. I'll go back, and I hope they can redeem themselves to some of thatformer Top Dog glory they once claimed. Till then... that dog has to take it's place somewhere other than the top. Read more

Not only is the food wonderful, the presentation is just beautiful. Not what one would expect from a Coney Island restaurant. ... The owners both work in their restaurant and are totally invested in their business. The atmosphere is friendly and makes aperson want to come back again. We went to the Top Dog for breakfast this morning and once again, it did not disappoint! Theportions were way more than I could eat and the presentation was just as beautiful for breakfast as for lunch as it was before. The hash browns were sliced very thin instead of shredded which I believe made them more tasty! Breakfast was delicious! Theyhave been in existence in Dearborn for forty years as is commemorated by sweat shirts, hoodies, long sleeve shirts, and tshirtsfor men and women. Very nice quality. Great Christmas gifts! Stop in and say hello to Joe and Zoya and pick up a shirt ortwo. You will be happy you did!! Read more
