This is a special place for sure. I travel here on business pretty often and this is my favorite place for lunch. The waitstaff... is amazing and once I was here and even got photographed as part of an upcoming ad campaign. If you want a great sandwich orlunch etc in Decatur its gonna be hard to beat this place. My husband and I ate here for the first time after a friend had raved about how it was her favorite place to eat. It was... fantasfic! From starter through dessert and every drink and dish in between was all excellently prepared and fresh and hot. Ourserver was wonderful and attentive to our needs and wants. She made excellent suggestions and made us feel very much at home andwelcome. We most certainly will be back very soon as we would like to sample nearly ever item offered. 10/10: Would highlyrecommend. Read more
I really enjoyed eating here. My food was great. My drinks were great too. I believe I had the crab cheesecake appetizer, The... southerner berger, and the Kentucky derby pie with bourbon ice cream. Great place with great staff and delicious food. Make a reservation as the staff is limited so they are limiting tables. You can... roll the dice on seats at the bar but I saw multiple groups not being able to eat as no seats were available. Read more
This place was quiet the afternoon we went. I am guessing it looks even more appealing in the evening when the lighting gives... it that hidden location appeal. The appetizers were both set up and looked great. The pretzel was fresh baked and delicious. The Cajun crab cheesecake lacked the punch I expected from the Cajun, almost like they forgot the seasoning. The sandwich weordered was hot , unfortunately the chips were stale and unappealing. I was honestly disappointed as this was a location wetraveled over 45 minutes to try specifically. Maybe it's because it was the afternoon , I don't know. The service was great,we were asked every 10 minutes if we needed anything. The truth is, the place looks amazing and the staff is kind, just wishthe food held up to as it was described in the menu. Asked to talk with manager and she was dismissive about my concerns. Blamed it on price of meat. We paid for that increase in... price but received a third of the portion. Now it makes sense why it was almost empty at noon. The price of meat is a poorexcuse because I make boards at home and we have them at other places. Wow! How this place has changed from my original review.We left hungry and spent double the amount this time and won’t be back. Large and shareable board last time with lots ofcheese and different types of crackers. This time the board was next to nothing and the tacos were tiny. So disappointed and weloved this restaurant. From a year ago: Absolutely amazing meal and service! We had the charcuterie board to start and it was sodelicious. For our meals, we had The Philly and The Southerner. The meat was tender and cooked perfectly. Huge portions! Ourserver, Sergio, was attentive without being overbearing and gave great recommendations.
