I am unable to eat solid food, and soup didn't sound good, so I sat with my family and enjoyed time with them. When their food... came, a server(from a different table) was told by my wife and daughter that they were sharing their meal with our youngestchildren. We had to ask for silverware, she only brought two sets. Even the server who was assigned our table didn't ask if theyneeded plates or silver. All I got was strange looks from both servers. It's always a treat to go to Cracker Barrel as the food is always great. This is our first time to the one in Decatur but it was... just a wonderful. Normally I get breakfast when I go but this time I got the kick'n chicken and let me tell you it was great. Icouldn't finish it all there was so much food. The wait staff was great and at the table just at the right time when we neededa drink refill or had a question. Read more

I showed up to this Cracker Barrel with my mind on meatloaf, and meatloaf on my mind. However I was greeted and seated by a... really sweet older lady Ms. Helen, who completely ruined that thought... by sweetly telling me that the special was turkey anddressing. And I learned a valuable lesson, RESPECT YOUR ELDERS and listen to Ms. Helen! :-) The turkey and dressing wasabsolutely amazing. The turkey was fork tender, the dressing was flavorful and delicious with chunks of celery and oniondotted throughout the gravy. I chose macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes casserole, and added a side of their country greenbeans. The meal was so delicious, I was thinking it was Thanksgiving somewhere:-). My server, Jennifer, was attentive and fast.In fact, food came out the kitchen so fast that it should have been written a speeding ticket. I would have taken a picture ofthe food but it was so delicious that it didn't stay on the plate very long at all. Read more

Today we went with group of 4 for lunch. I ordered grilled cheese off kids menu (not super hungry yet). Everyone said there... meals were good except Mine which was a simple grilled cheese and fries. I took one bite and it was super burned on one side. The side you couldn't see. Server took it back but didn't bring another one until every completed there meals and fries werecold.. No refills on drinks either. Paid $60 for everyone and I didn't eat lunch. Not happy. Read more

I?ve been here a few times in the past but never wrote anything about my visits. I dined here by myself just a few days ago... though, as I was in the middle of a move and all my cookware at home was boxed up. Danielle was my server and I could tell fromthe start that she was a seasoned professional who enjoys her job, unlike some very unseasoned servers I?ve had in the past atthis location. I?m glad she took care of me. I?m writing this review because of her. I had a beer, a burger with fries, and aside of mac and cheese. I had been craving mac and cheese that week. The meal was just what I needed; tasty and verysatisfying! From start to finish the service was casual but professional. Danielle had a very friendly and pleasant demeanorand kept checking on me to see if I needed anything. It?s great when a server keeps walking by and clearing off your table orasking if you need refills, etc. She also reacted professionally and smiled when she was about to drop the check and I mentionedI was thinking about getting dessert, even after my huge meal. I ended up having the peach cobbler for dessert. Dessert wasn?texceptional, but it wasn?t bad either. I guess I was expecting fresh peaches and these seemed like canned ones. It was finethough because I got it a la mode! ???? I should not have assumed there would be fresh peaches in the peach cobbler. This iscentral Illinois, not Georgia or California after all. The only negative part of my visit happened upon my arrival. A personwho appeared to be a manager or supervisor was telling the hostesses at the host stand that they had to do some extra work. Ithought it was a bit unprofessional for him to speak so loudly in front of customers about the tasks he was giving them anddistracting them from their host duties. The hostesses were distracted a few moments before they noticed me because of this. Hecould have greeted me instead and had one of them take care of me, and then given out his instructions later, onc Read more

The food was great - fresh, hot, and flavored perfectly; I had fried chicken, okra and green beans. Our server was attentive,... quick, and very courteous, and on a very busy day. There was some mix-up seating us, but it was resolved quickly. Read more

Good food in a family centered, old country atmosphere. The food is warm and tasty, with a wide selection for breakfast, lunch... and dinner. The staff is polite, courteous and attentive. Cool antiques decor on the walls and a gift area with many cool thingsto give as a gift or for your home. Conveniently located just off the highway. Read more
