Im going to start off by saying, I?m fat, love my bbq and have eaten BBQ all over the country. The best thing about this place... was the atmosphere. I got a 2 meat combo with ribs, burnt ends, slaw and beans and a brownie to go. My boyfriend got the samething but with mashed and green beans and key lime pie to go. The ribs were rubbery, the burnt ends were pulled pork, the beanswere BEYOND burnt and the cornbread was dryer then Ben Stein in a Dry Eyes commercial. Canned green beans, store boughtbrownies. This is a great addition to the dining options in the area. If you?re in the mood for wood smoked bbq prepared in a traditional... style you will enjoy Blue Ribbon BBQ. They have all of the choices you would expect at an authentic bbq joint. The interior isthoughtfully designed and decorated, giving it the feel of a long-open establishment that caters to the neighborhood locals. Overall, the food was OK for a decent price. Baked beans were heavy on the molasses for my taste; cornbread was tasty but dry... (maybe this is normal for some?). Coleslaw was fine. Beef brisket was tender but ultimately didn?t work for me. The best part ofthe meal was the sausage (hot link), which was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. -Pulled Chicken was tasty and not dry. -I selected Hot Bbq Sauce which can make up for any lack of flavor, its a decent thin... sauce you can pour over yourself. But not really ?hot?. Asked for sweet bbq sauce too, but they only gave me hot. -The Collardswere fine but nothing amazing flavor wise. They drain the juice probably so it doesn?t spill onto your other sides. -Rice andBeans were good also, would order them again. -Cornbread is huge and comes with the meal, but it really lacked flavor for me. Iappreciate it being there, but it can use some more flavor. Maybe sugar, honey, corn I don?t know. -Sweet Bbq Chicken dinner wasa ?dry rub? which I don?t mind, but it didn?t blow my socks off, and personally feel it was a little dry because it wasn?tcooked with the sauce they give you on the side. Mine was half a chicken, and you do get all of those pieces. The Breast, Thigh,Drum, Wing. It was short lived because it needed the sauce they didn?t give me (sweet bbq). I had to use the hot bbq sauce frommy other order and it was just OK, and still dry. -Mashed potatoes looked dry, but they were actually really tasty. I didn?tneed to add anything to them. I would order here again but just stick to the pulled chicken, mashed potatoes and rice andbeans!!! Hopefully they give me the sweet bbq sauce next time so I can try it! Everything was beyond excellent. The brisket, pork, chicken, all were amazing. The sauces are just as good, but honestly the... meats are so unbelievable they don't even need the sauces. That said, the kick the "hot" sauce has is addictive, and thevinegar-based North Carolina sauce is also great. Mix them together for a blend of flavors...just can't go wrong. They alsocater. I went to Blue Ribbon BBQ to pick up food for Thanksgiving. Didn't feel like cooking this year and after all what's more... American than bbq! I had a feast! Burnt Ends, Texas style Beef Brisket, Baked Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw and Cornbread.Everything was outstanding! I was thrilled! I highly recommend this place. You will love it! Read more
