I decided to try GreeKrave for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. I had the standard gyro and a fountain drink - the... gyro itself was just under $10. The gyro was piled pretty high with lamb, onion and lettuce (I don't eat raw tomato). Vegetables seemed fresh and their gyro meat was tender and also seemed fresh. Pita and tzaziki sauce were pretty standardstuff. One really cool thing - blazing fast service. So, if you want a quick and pretty standard gyro you could do much worse! Read more
Hard to even give a 2. Chicken gyro is not gyro meat at all it’s souvlaki and gross. Fatty, lots of dark meat and not much... flavor. The platter came with tiny (emphasis) salad packed in same container and an abundance of blah rice (literally spit itout). Hummus is bland. Tzatziki is only thing that was worth it - hence two stars. My last appetizer on earth will be the Greek Dumplings from GreekRave. They are out of this world good. They have a meat... filling with Mediterranean flavoring and are deep fried. Served with a chipotle dip, they taste best plain. Their closestrelative is the empanada. If you are having a party, substitute the empanada for the Greek dumpling. They are darn good. Read more
Not for anyone with a Greek background or familiar with authentic Greek food. -Avgolemono (Chicken Lemon Orzo Soup as they call... it) was VERY heavy on the fake lemon taste while not being creamy at all and the chicken tasted like it was from a can. -Porksouvlaki was not seasoned -Tzatziki tasted like sour cream with no dill and very little garlic -Spanakorizo (brown spinach rice)was also very bland and dry.
