We waited 30 minutes for a smoothie bowl. With 2 kids that are wanting to eat food after a couple hours on the beach we thought... it would be a quick stop. Prepare for a restaurant wait for a smoothie. The management has three 15 year olds waiting oncustomers and have no idea what they?re doing. One teen was in the back doing homework and had to be called up front. Anotherone was cutting strawberries and refused to help and had attitude every time someone walked in. Playa bowls is my all time favorite place to get acai but my last experience was a let down. I ordered a bowl with slight... modifications to it and it came out wrong, I had asked to get it remade and it came out wrong again and the acai was runny. Thestaff was unfocused and didn?t seem to be paying much attention to what they were doing because they were talking to each othernonstop. 2 Stars because the bowl was good, but there was a lack of communication... my fresh juice was not delivered, driver said they... couldn't make it. Restaurant never called to let me know, thankfully Uber refunded that part of my order, but the juice wasreally the real reason for the order. I see many of the reviews have a similar theme. The last few times I?ve gone here with friends it?s gotten worse each time. They always have 5+ people who are working but all... seem to be either socializing with other workers or just visiting on their off shift. Last time I went, I ordered a bowl and the3 people in line behind me got their bowl before me. And when I finally got mine it was overflowed and there were chunks ofsomething really bitter in my bowl, maybe old fruit. Been here multiple times and I love it! Treated myself a couple times and brought a visiting friend here. My only complaints are... that they don't take pickup orders over the phone and the music is always too loud (I guess that means I'm too old). I love thegreen bowls. Can only vouch for their bowls, not their smoothies. Always super fresh and beautiful presentation. Highlyrecommend downloading their app so you can earn points and get coups. Side note: Keep your expectations at whatever level theyshould be when it's mostly teenagers working there. They're often nice to me but they're teenagers so, they act like teenagers???? I also love that this place has grown from a small biz out of South Jersey (I'm from NJ) into a franchise with over 100locations around the US. Parking can be tricky/expensive. There's a garage in the building but it charges you $4 even if you'rethere for 10 minutes (because, you know, parking by the beach). Every time I go to this location, the employees are always so friendly and helpful. I love their menu has a huge selections of... anything you can think of! I?m in love with the decor it?s such a vibe!!! I?ve even recommended this place with friends andfamily. Definitely will come again! Read more
WORST EXPERIENCE I had with a staff member from playa bowls!! The employee?s name is Jeffrey Jordan who is supposedly a... ?manager? at the Deerfield beach location, was very rude and very unprofessional. I tried to enjoy my lunch there but I couldn?tstay there any longer because of the fact that his service and his dedication to serving the customers was well below average. Read more
