I am part of the new staff here at the Dekalb location and we are doing our best to get things up and running again. Due to a... lot of things that went wrong with the past staff we are very behind. Myself and about 4/5 others are working to clean,maintain, and get Steak n Shake back up and running 1000% . Just please be patient with us and give us some time (that?s all weask.)In the meantime our drive thru is open from 12pm-10pm 7 days a week. Waited over an hour for food. Only got ignored by staff once I asked an hour into service. We were the only ones there. No... manager in the building. Just an absolutely horrible experience ending with my children crying hungry and needing to stop atWendy's. No refunds given. Waste of $100! Read more
I wish I could add photos... the restaurant had JUST opened when we got there for lunch. Went to the bathroom to use it and wash... hands. Let me tell you... I held it... the state of those toilets was completely unacceptable and unhygienic, and the trashclearly hadn't been taken out in awhile.... 1 star for the food being fine. Read more
I came here for a quick bite and ordered a triple steakburger combo. The food came out pretty quick. Once I started eating my... burger I noticed that the last party wasn?t done. Once I bought it back to the mangers attention he told me that there wasn?tanything he could do because I ate some of the burger. Steak and shake has been my favorite for years. Not anymore. They renovated inside and I was excited to see what they did. They... installed kiosks so no wait staff anymore. Dirty tables, unhelpful and few staff, dirty dishes piling up, 15 minutes for aburger and overcooked fries and 25 minutes for 1 banana milkshake that I put in a Togo cup myself as I had finished my food bythen. It was sad. Steak and Shake corporate messed this up bad. I don't blame the staff, they are trying. But they need morehelp and return to what worked. Read more
I used to love Steak N Shake. It was pricey but the coupons on every receipt made it worth coming back again and again. A couple... of months ago they stopped doing the coupons, and now I can't afford to eat their sandwiches at all. My wife and I have loved this place for years. Sorrowfully I have to, say this was the worst visit i have had here. Only saw one... other customer, but had a long wait. Once I got my food I drove away. Good point fries were hot. Then Frisco burger was warm andvery oily. It had some flavorless red fluid pooring out all over, not ketchup not French, just unsure. Then what used to be myfavorite garlic burger. Good point lots of garlic flavor, but so oily, not part of the garlic seasoning. It had a puddle in thewrapper. Used to be such a great restaurant. My daughter and I went to get shakes, and they were delicious, as usual, but the service was really slow. There was no one else... in the restaurant, and maybe a couple cars in the drive through, but it took 15 minutes to get two shakes. We were worried aboutrunning out of time, so we ordered another to-go for my other daughter, which only took about 5 minutes. Staff were friendly,and the food was good, just slow. Read more
