This is my absolute favorite sandwich/salad place but something that has happened multiple times is the times on the website do... not match the time the restaurant closes. Today specifically my bf and I walked to board and brew Del Mar because their websitesaid they closed at 7 and we got here at 6:30 and the place was completely closed and there were employees outside therestaurant sitting. This same situation happened to me at the PB location the website said they closed at 9 and we got there at8 and they told us they were closed. I love board and brew but they?re phone lines never work so it?s impossible to call aheadand their website hours are unreliable. Read more
Food is great, I know they're busy all the time (because the food is awesome) but the times I've gone their customer service... isn't great in my opinion. They're so rushed that they speed through the order, so you better know EXACTLY what you want whenyou get to the counter. No time to ask questions or theyll be visibly impatient. I had barely stepped away from the counter whenthe cashier asked over my head to the guy behind me what he wanted to order. Can I have 3 seconds to shove my change in my purseand step aside before you rush through the next order and nearly yell in my face? Felt chaotic but food was worth it. Read more
Some may consider the prices to be a bit expensive however the sandwiches are quite large. Many people only eat half and take... the rest home for another meal. They are open from 9am till 6pm so you can stop by for lunch early in the day or in time for ameal at dinner time. Also, they have an app which allows you to order ahead for a quick pick up inside the store. The staff isvery attentive, energetic and entertaining also. Don't act surprised when paying if the cashier hints at tipping. There is ascreen at the register to do so. Just choose at least 15% (there are higher options also) if all went well and the entire staffwill be very appreciative! Some favourites are: Tom's choice is a Roast Beef, Turkey and Cheddar combo served on a baguette.Make sure to say yes when they ask if you want two servings of special sauce! You can even buy your own bottle (around 6dollars) to take home for later use. A side order of potato salad also goes well with almost every sandwich here. TheCalifornia Delight (pictured above) is also another great choice! Turkey, cream cheese and sunflower seeds and sprouts on squawbread is an excellent combination! It usually only takes me a few minutes to finish the entire sandwich! If you're into roastbeef try either the Baja Beef or the Beef Dip. Both are from the grill which means they are served warm and the Beef Dip evencomes with hot au jus sauce in which you can dunk your sandwich. You can enjoy a beer here too as the name suggests and a softdrink also either in a can or cup. A cup costs two bucks and you can refill as much as you want. Unreal! If you haven?t been before you are missing out. Their wraps are our off this world and you have to get their sauce! Our... favorite locations are the Del Mar and Del Sur locations. These sandwiches are so bad. Honestly I think subway is equally as good. The menu claimed ?everything is made from scratch?,... however not one single item was made from scratch except maybe the salad (if you don?t count the croutons or dressing). Thesesandwiches are about as made from scratch as a slice of bologna on wonder bread. I felt very mislead after reading theirwebsite. There are no redeeming qualities either. There is little shade to sit in, only soda or some low quality tea to drink,and the friendliness of the staff is sub par. 0/10 will definitely not be back. Read more
