This past weekend we held my daughters Bridal shower at Sparrows in the Azalea Room. From the beginning, with all the planning... involved, we were presented with such wonderful ideas by their events coordinator Sadia. The event was seamless, the room wasbeautiful, the food was delicious. We had the brunch served, complimented with an amazing charcuterie display and of course theMimosas! Our waitress Connie was so helpful and accommodating. Everyone was impressed and loved it from beginning to end. Had lunch with my family . Waiter provided good service but he was also the bus boy and bartender. Kudos to him for keeping up.... Food on the other hand was below average. I had the Cuban, which was dry and fell far short of other Cuban sandwiches I hadelsewhere. The others has club sandwiches. All in all no wow until I got my check. We were hankering for something new so… we tried Deland Social but they were opening at 3 today.????. So we happed upon... Sparrow’s Grille…. WOW!!! They did not disappoint. The signage could be better as we were not sure we were in the rightplace. Parking is mostly shaded and reminded me of a State Park. Was not busy but had a nice atmosphere. We sat by the windowwhich does let some heat in if you are sensitive to that. I ordered the hamburger and my wife ordered the Cuban. D lish us. TheCuban was not just cold cuts made into a sandwich. Pickles thick sliced. You tasted everything. Very god. The hamburger wascooked as I requested, medium well, and server on a toasted bun with lettuce, Tomato, and sweet onion. Very good as well. I was anxious to try DeLand Social (new restaurant down the street) however, it was closed because of a family emergency when we... arrived. Sparrow's Grille was a nice surprise to the last minute plan changes. There is plenty of parking. The entrance ishandicap accessible along with the interior of the restaurant. We were seated right away and our drink order was taken. Themenu is two-sided. Perhaps I missed it but I did not see where one side was for lunch only and the other side for dinner only. Itried to order from the entree section and was told that I could only order from the other side of the menu. Both sides of themenu have plenty of options to choose from including vegetarian items. The food came out quickly, looked beautiful, and tastedgreat. I wasn't quite ready for the experience to be over yet so we decided to order dessert. We ordered the key lime pie whichwas beautifully presented. It came out on a homemade whipped cream type base that was phenomenal. Just dipping the strawberriesin there would have been a perfect dessert. The key lime pie itself was very well done. We love this place and the staff. The new menu is wonderful. Pasta night is so great! The chefs come out and makes the food and... is patient and kind with us as we make our selection. We love brunch as well. Sitting outside is great and it's covered soyou're safe when it's raining as well. The staff is friendly and accommodating and so helpful even with the fact that we bring 2crazy kids with us. Read more
A pleasant dinner, was seated upon arrival. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, and above average quality.... Prices are also above average but the quality makes it worth the cost. Full bar for drinks, everything except for blendeddrinks. Wish they had a glutenfree menu, but staff were helpful to inquire what was available. Read more
Stopped in after a round of golf and had a great lunch and drink. Our server Sierra was great!!! She served us quickly and... came by several times to make sure all was ok. Recommend Sparrow's and ask for Sierra if you want great service. Read more
