Go someplace else, bad service, high prices, and long wait times for food even when the restaurant is fairly empty. We arrived... and placed an order to go on Sunday evening. First thing I noticed, the prices are higher than their website. Lots of prices arerising, not a big deal. I asked if they had Menudo on the weekend and the women who appeared to be the manager said ?Yuk?. Weplaced our order and then went to the bar to have a drink while we waited. The bartender sat us at a table and then before thebeer even got there the manager was asking us why we sat down and said we needed to move. We then watched our waitress struggleto pour the beers, bartender relieved her but still couldn?t get a beer that wasn?t half foam. They then asked if they couldjust bring us bottles. Fine. 30 minutes later we ask for our food. The waitress immediately walks out with it. Questioning thetiming we ask if it had been sitting and waiting for a while. The waitress replies ?Chef sometimes stalls. The kitchen is alwaysbacked up.? $54 for enchiladas, chimichangas, and fajitas. Oh and the two ?draft beers?. Food wasn?t great. We wish we hadn?tstopped. Hernandez has always been my families go to place since we first started to travel up to Wisconsin. We highly recommend the food... for adults and children. When you sit down and they bring the chips and salsa they will immediately ask if you would like themild salsa for the kids. The food they make is authentic and not pre-made items that you find at other Mexican restaurants inthe area. Read more
Meat? Good. Beans? Good. Rice? Good. Tortilla? Good. Chips? Good. Margaritas? Good. The service? Good. The experience?... Good. Been coming here since I was a kid, it's the best Mexican around. We really enjoyed our experience at Hernandez Mexican Restaurant. The service was lovely. Our server and all the staff was very... friendly and made for a nice experience with our whole family tonight including our 3 young children. The chips were fresh andobviously homemade. Worth the trip for the chips alone. We had margaritas on the rocks which were strong and delicious. Thechimichanga combo was tasty and incredibly filling. My husband had the combination Guadalajara and said it was wonderful aswell. Our check arrived with two chocolate chip cookies as well that were a nice top off to the meal considering we were toofull for dessert! We will definitely be back! As an update May 2022 they no longer serve the cookies but we did order some friedice cream and it was very yummy and sat atop almost a sopapilla like cinnamon sugar tortilla. They've also had to increase theirprices across the board by $1.25 unfortunately but we understand why with sadly absolutely everything going up in price thesedays so it's not a knock against the restaurant. To their credit they have signage up and a sticker on the menu to let you knowabout the price difference. Read more
Good Mexican food and the staff was excellent.

The food was plentiful and very delicious. The person who waited on us was very sweet and she worked so hard to make sure our... experience was top notch! The only thing that I wondered about was the ground beef served in my tostada and taco. I have justnever really had authentic Mexican food with ground beef in it. It reminded me a little too much of Taco Bell. I will say thatthe chicken in the burrito was very tasty! The tortilla chips and salsa (red and green - YUMMY) will cost you just over a buck,but they're unlimited refills. We really enjoyed our dining experience here and my wife and I definitely plan to go back to trysome of their other items on the menu! Read more
