I love good Chinese food. We usually eat out but one of us had a cold so we ate takeout food from China gardens There were... three of us and we ordered takeout food which was delicious and it was inexpensive We ordered the dinner which included soup andegg roll with fried or white rice in addition there was 3 free coupons for a pint of soup or a qt of fried rice or 2free extraegg roll s We ordered general Tso chicken $17 dollars #43 #73 eggplant with chicken $16.50 And last but the best a huge dish of#24 pork egg foo young $15 dollars we have never had any meals at the restaurant. I went today around 4:00. Waitress was really bad or doing something In the back because the owner or manager took my order . I... got my soup and dinner from him and no one came to ask me how things were. Well I found a nice black hair in my food and waitedfor someone to come see it. FINALLY after sitting there for a while she comes, picks up the hair ,plays with it , and says doyou want me to wrap the rest ? Lady are you kidding me? And she charged me full price for my meal. I said they should be wearinghair nets back there . She didn’t really care. And guess what I won’t ever eat there again. She should have called themanager over and I shouldn’t have been charged . I recently moved from PB County, after 50 years there, to Martin County. Sadly, there do not seem to be any Chinese restaurants... here that are above one star. I was reminded of this when friends visited recently with a surprise order of food from ChinaGardens in Delray Beach, which has been one of the best in PB County for many years. Their recent remodeling has made therestaurant very pleasant, and the food has only improved. EVERYTHING seems better, from simple dishes like the soup and eggrolls to somewhat more interesting items like lo mein (they actually use the correct noodles) and string beans with shrimp orbeef. Even the chicken wings are done correctly--nice ginger flavor but not overpowering. It isn't rocket science to offerexcellent Chinese food; I wish some of the Martin County owners would visit China Gardens and learn how to improve theirofferings even if they have to raise their prices a bit to do so. Ordered online for delivery. Prices seemed typical and the food wasn't horrible just not what you'd expect. I ordered 2 meals;... garlic chicken and general Tsao chicken. Both were prepared like sweet and sour chicken would be where the chicken is deep friedwith the sauce on the side. Both were fairly flavorless and neither dish had any vegetables.
