One of the strangest experiences I have had at a grocery store. I went in at 7pm on a Monday. It was pretty dead in there, I... noticed they had multiple cashiers, and a whole bunch of employees hanging out by the customer service counter. I was getting anitem from the bakery. There was an employee behind the counter doing something, and then he walked away. I went to a cashier whowas standing at the till and asked him if he could get someone to help me in the bakery. He said to me ?I can?t, you can callsomeone over?. I asked him who I was supposed to call, and why he can?t get someone as an employee and he shrugged and noddedhis head now. Then he said ?You can try the customer service counter? which was 10 feet from where he was standing. I went tothat counter and asked, and the employee who had been in the bakery said he can help me. He also told me that he was ?going homeearly sick?. I asked him why he was serving me if he was sick, and he said ?oh well I wasn?t really sick, just not feeling mybest?. He then helped me, and went back to socializing with the other employees. Very odd experience, perhaps teach youremployees customer service and some level of care for the customer experience. Judging from reviews, I had a strange experience?I hope management sees this though, it was not acceptable. Read more

Amazing selection, even for gourmet items such as fresh lemongrass stalks and kefir lime leaves if you are making Thai cuisine,... for example. Watch for deals on fresh store made poke, my Japanese parents always buy this?lots of high end products, handy tofind under one roof in our small town. Especially their health food section for obscure things like probiotics to make your owncoconut yogurt etc, pretty competitive prices there. Sometimes end up paying higher prices just to save time having to makeanother stop, but time & gas is money too. Staff is friendly, if you like spicy Asian soup watch for their Thai soup. It?s notthere every day, but you can find it frozen. Lots of great organic produce, quite often the only place around here I canregularly find organic cilantro. Florist section super reasonable for very fresh & pretty arrangements, every florist I?veencountered has been very customer service oriented and they do a nice job wrapping while you shop. Read more
Thrifty Foods carries specialty items throughout the entire store in every department. They have a comprehensive bakery, a full... meat department, a full and complete fresh seafood selection and they carry local produce. Their inventory is sourced from ourcountry of Canada, particularly from BC and not from offshore foreign providers. Their entire staff has always been helpful andpolite. Read more

This place is a part of Sobeys so they accept airmiles. Of note, they make real cakes here which are awesome. I tried the black... forest cake slice for 3.99 and it was superb. Moist, fresh chocolate cake with Tart cherry filling and real whipped cream. Aquality cake slice that I gobbled it up and forgot to take a picture of it. They also sell some unique specialty food I have notseen elsewhere. A fun mini adventure. Read more
