This is the first time here. It was recommended by my step daughter. It was very good. Prices were reasonable and portions were... just right. Unfortunately I couldn't eat everything I got. My husband and I visited tor the first time today.(We're not from Denison) We were there a little after 10:30 and it was pretty... busy but we got seated quickly. We were given some complimentary bread rolls with butter. They were fresh. The inside was softand warm. I ordered fried green tomatoes for an appitizer( I've always wanted to try them and i wasnt disappointed!) They werenice and crispy not mushy at all. They had a little bite to them. It came with avocado ranch which was surprisingly yummy. Iordered the chicken fried chicken, broccoli rice casserole and garlic mashed potatoes with white gravy. To drink was just asoda. The chicken fried chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Great flavor. The mashed potatoes were creamyand the broccoli rice casserole was very flavorful. My husband ordered a sweet tea with lemon, the chicken fried brisket, loadedbaked potato and a salad. He let me try a little bit of his food. Im picky with my sweet tea and usually wont order it when ata restaurant because its always too sweet but here it was just perfect. Just the righr amount of sweetness. The chicken friedbrisket was a first for us. It was nice and crispy on the outside, the inside was soft and not dry at all. Has great flavor. Thesalad was a good size. Im not sure if they make theirbown crutons or not but that was ny favorite party of the salad. Overalleverything exceeded out expectations. Before we talk food, a shout out to our server, Ireland. Despite being somewhat busy and having worked the lunch shift too, she... was really attentive and so welcoming. I also need to drop in a conversation from another table. Their server told them he?dbeen at Cotton Patch before he was born. When his mom was pregnant she worked here! So cool. Now, to the food. Some of the bestqueso ever. I know that?s a bold statement but this brisket queso is downright craveable! Our entrees were a solid high scoringhit too. We had the chicken fried brisket and chicken fried steak. As a note, I told my better half the green beans so good theytasted like they came from the family reunion. For dessert, I couldn?t resist the Mama?s cake?yellow cake and cheesecake combo.It?s definitely rich (no surprise) but my was it was it tasty. Let me just say this first: my server, Chase, was absolutely amazing! He has a great energy and is very attentive and... helpful! Great job!! Texas born and Texas proud, Cotton Patch Cafe has been in business for more than 30 years.. the food isusually pretty good. Tonight was a little different. I started with the brisket queso and chips.. it was delicious! QuesoBlanco with a bit of brisket and a drizzle of barbecue sauce.. it was excellent! Then I had the Shiner Bock beer battered fishand chips. In true pub food fashion, the three fish filets were thickly battered and fried... but they were a little over doneand tasted burnt. Caesar salad was perfect! Fresh and crisp with just the right amount of dressing.. Probably won't do seafoodnext time. I'll just stick to the favorites.. Read more
The cooks here know what they are doing.when they can make grandma's Sunday dinner tastes great on their plate. Well.... let's... just say not to many people can make blackeyed pees and catfish double mashed potatoes. Oh.. nevermind just look at the picture. We were traveling through Denison today and had lunch at the Cotton Patch. They were very busy, but that caused no issues with... service or food. The service was great, they take good care of their customers, the food was great and of great quality andpresented well, the portions are excellent and the price is fair. All in all it was a great place and I recommend it highly andI will definitely be back. I got so distracted when the food was brought to us that I forgot to take pictures upon its arrival,so after we already started eating I remembered pictures, sorry about that. The food was great. Let me start by saying my waiter Dillon, was very good. The wait time for our food was an hour. My food came out cold which I... didn't understand considering the wait time. There was more staff then patrons. I wish I had a better experience butunfortunately I did not. Read more
Ya kno, I dont kno if I've ever been to a cotton patch cafe. But now that I have, gotta say, this was good. Stuff tasted great,... looked great and I got stuffed. Service also, great. He kept the beverages topped off. They had chicken fried brisket...dude!!! Read more
