Large party on the Cape usually means someone is not happy. Not the case as everyone loved their food. Understaffed servers were... very kind and did a great job. Starting at front desk, young girl she said was almost 16 working the phones, seating, take out then helped me with a... sweatshirt. The place was busy but under staffed. Sunday 8-28-22. She took the time to help me pick out a sweatshirt in thebunkers they have for storage which truly as a person that knows the business it seems silly to store sweatshirts out in a lobbywith glass doors no no where near the cashier because her being alone also means that whole area is unattended. She is a localall year round student that lives on the Cape with light blonde hair .I am so upset I forgot her name because she was a asset toChapins.I had to ask because she was just so sweet if she lived on the Cape.Sweatshirt I bought was absolutely awesome bestqueasily and the design was beautiful which attracted me to needing this in my life. Five of us ate the bar side inside whichhas they very best truffle fries all of us ever had. It was actually my third time in the short time I was down there goingthere and every time we always had to get them.Our waitress was amazing she also bartended worked her Fanny off that night.Thursday night we were there Jess was working the Bar as insanely busy as she was she was smiling helping with suggestions fordrinks etc. Chapins truly has wonderful service , food is amazing and atmosphere is the best totally thumbs up. Went there 3 times over 3 weeks in late July and first week of August. No AC so it was uncomfortably hot inside all 3 times.... Menu gets smaller every year (no dinner rolls, No Raw Bar, no Lobster Alfredo, no Seafood Cioppino) and food has becomeaverage at best. Unfortunately, it is a shadow of what Chapin's used to be years ago. I have been going there for over 15 yearsand it used to be great. If I return it will be only for a drink and quick appetizer. They seem to be banking on the bar revenueand letting the restaurant slide. Read more
There aren?t enough words to describe how much we love Chapin?s. Our server Maeve was the best human being I?ve ever met. She... got us our clam chowder in less than 5 minutes, and was beyond kind and helpful. Thanks for turning our day around by being aray of sunshine! We were able to catch the sunset because of you! Saw the Grab Brothers play here. Good times! Nice people. Baked haddock with lobster sauce was excellent.
Long wait between ordering apps and food. Chowder legitimately had sand in it. I'm guessing the clams were not cleaned properly.... My $19.00 steak and cheese was not warm, no melted cheese and the portion size was that of an elementary school lunch. The onlyredeeming aspect of our experience was the drinks were on point. We got the fish and chips. The portion was pretty small in comparison to what they give you over at the Willow tavern. We were... going to order lobster rolls until we found out the price of $40 each. Other than that, food was adequate. The service couldhave been better.
